Looks really, really nice. I have to say that it looks more pure sativa than the CG line I have (originally from BSC), they look similar and the family resemblance is clear, but yours looks pure sativa whereas alongside mine looks like it has something else added at some point in its lineage. The difference is in the bud formation, yours has foxtails that point out at different angles and a more open structure, mine also grows as foxtails but they are less angled and grow closer to the stem, yours also has longer pistils, apart from that, they look pretty similar. Mine takes about 14 weeks, and clones can be harvested after 12, so that also points to its genes havign been polluted at some point with something else.

If you look at this last pic of a clone just before going into flowering, you can see that the leaves of mine have shorter blades, when grown from seed, this CG line looks quite indica, with surprisingly wide leaves and short(ish) structure, she only fully expresses her sativa traits (lone node spacing, thin stems, thin droopy leaves) when you flower her.

I love my CG line, but having seen yours, I am keen to try it out too, one day I'll grow the two side-by-side hoppefully.

Thanks for stoppin by BH! Yeah it is neat-o to see that two lines from different sources of the same name and region show a definite similarity. The bsc one which is what you have there came out of some fine santa marta gold purchased in Costa Rica. Your beautiful cut is one of the most pure sativa phenos I've ever seen come from that particular seedstock which typically expresses more indica traits some specimen I've heard of finishing in 9 weeks indoors. The line we're currently selling is a pure sativa cross which was bred from colombian lines picked up in the region of origin came from lines which were a bit more predicatble and probably unhybridized until we crossed it to another colombian to make this line.

Hola BH

Good to see you. This 'Goldbud' takes between 18-26w indoors, typical of most of the pure Colombians. Glad you like her, drop us a line when your back in action, would like to see you grow her.

Peace, M

you can definitely see the strong resemblance in spider and BH's plants but i agree something got into BH's and tightened the calyxes a tad and increased the resin a little or maybe that's the camera.. but the double SMG hybrid looks and sounds real nice, do they have the typical increase in vigor expected from F1s?

warning slight gripe ahead

since the name is breeder's choice, i think it'd be cool if you sold more than 10 beans in a pack, again i give nothing but bad financial advice lol, but say a chap wants to try to make F2s and then eventually separate the lines back into their parents, like some aid organizations recommend poor people do to obtain true breeding seed from commercial ag hybrids tomatoes etc bought at wallmart etc. now. can that be done with just 10 seeds, even assuming that all 10 are single sexed nonautoflowering high thc specimens and that numbnuts here doesn't lose any in germ? your thoughts when you have time, gentlemen?

yum, these look great HHF ! But I have to admit that the name is a bit misleading. Reading "Colombo", I thought first it was a strain from Sri Lanka.

I agree, its nice to be able to compare cultivars from the same region. I won't use the label 'landrace' to describe the cultivar of CG I have, it's definitely been worked for a few gens, maybe some other genes were added, a frien who grew some Cgseeds I gave him out saw much more indica traits in his but they went 17 weeks. I think the cold weather earlier in the year slowed his down and he gave them too much nitrogen and not enough light which caused them to express more indica traits.

All of the CG I have grown from this seedline have been as sativa as the pics, they seemed very similar, didn't see much variation at all, only noticeable phenotypical variation I saw was between ones with purple stripes on the stems and those with pure green stems, the green stemmed ones were a week or two quicker to finish.

I must have given out 400-500 seeds of this cultivar, so hopefully we will see some more grow reports soon to really assess the line. I still have about 500 seeds left, if folks are interested, i will either put packs up on seedbay or send them to Gypsy to give out as freebies. I wil lsay that this particular cultivar is very suitable for indoor growing, it can be done in 14 weeks from seeds and clones can be done in 12, it is foolproof to clone and grown from clone can produce really well, loves to side branch and loves to be trained and tied down, also likes pruning. If folks are looking for larger sized packs to pick out individuals for breeding, maybe I could offer 25 or even 50 packs, only because I want to spread and preserve of course, I'm not in the business of making seeds purely to sell, I made about 1000 a while bak for preservation and to share with friends and have a lot left.

BH,

Foxtails... so that's what they're called eh?!.. LOL

I thought she might be doing that so much because i've exposed her to light stress a
couple of times.

Nice plant mate, what kind of lighting do you use on your sats?
