police auction - poor bastard
Me and my girl went to a police auction about 2 hours away to look for a car for her. Anyway, I didn't know it when I went, but in addition to automobiles there was general merchandise that was seized. I was just walking around, wasting time before the auction started when I saw two palates each contained:
2 hydrofarm 400W MH (ballast, air-cooled reflector, w extra bulb) 3 hydrofarm 1000W HPS (ballast, air cooled reflector, extra bulb) and all of it was super clean-looking; I'd say unused or w/ less than one grow on it. My heart goes out to the poor bastard's who gear got seized and sold for $132 a palate. |

I know right; first of all the temptation of buying it was unbearable, but yeah I'm not a complete moron.
It was a couple of kids - I'd say maybe 20 years old. I wanted so badly to approach them and tell them "you guys are off to a bad start," but I resisted. I'll just wait and read about them in the paper in a few months... Last edited by half_lotus; 04-25-2007 at 07:48 PM.. |

I heard some ex-cops run that place, I'd stay away, it's probably a revolving door of 50 ballasts that just keep comming back, if ya catch my drift.

you know I need to kep this in mind,, i want to have a garden shop/ herb (leagal) heath thing one day,,, I would LOVE to SUE teh shit out of them.. after I buy butt loads of equipment and they try to bust me.. hmm I see a plan./// of cousre I will have a lawyer set up in advance,, this could be "FUN" ?? hmm......

There have been numerous cases of police busting in due to suspicion of clandestine grow ops only to find legal grow ops. Tomatoes, peppers, etc.
This is one reason why I am not so wary of buying at police auctions, though I never have. What do you think the percentage of weed growers are buying these items versus the percentage of legal growers looking for cheap gear?

very few people buy hydro equiptment to grow tomatoes. bag of vegetable is what, 20 dollars a pound for the holy grail of vegetables?
