Soil nutrient question...

HEy all,
It's me again! Right now the hydro grow is going pretty well, and the Capt. has me using GH Flora nova with Pure Blend. MY question is what soil nutes do you all use? Would pure blend (the original, not the pro) be ok by itself. I am using organic potting mix, with perlite, and earthworm castings in it.

I may mix some blood and bone meal, if I decide to flower it. This may become a mom, it just depends. THis is a superfruit/blueberry, in two of them, and g13 in one of the others. So Hopefully the g13 and one of the superfruit blueberry's is female, and branches alot so it has the superfruit dominance.

Ok done rambling, so what do you all use? THanks in advance

I have no idea about your question of choice of those particular nutes to use as i dont use any of them.

I will in the future though, when i can afford to buy more gear. Pure Blend sounds like the go.

At the moment I just use a local source of liquified kelp, blood and bone, fish emulsion, liquid potash, and a few flakes of epsom salts.

Im trialling out a soil-less medium of 50/50 peat and perlite, no soil nutrients or soil added, only slowly watered nute solutions through fast draining soil.

Mainly because im trying to keep gnat numbers down and i wanted to see if it were possible to keep it a liquified fed medium only, no soil nutrients for the gnats to play in.

So far its ok but ph is a little high,
im adding some peat moss in the next transplant to acidify it a little bit.

Good luck on your grow, you sound like youve got the right components of a nice growing soil.

Hope to see pics of your G-13.

Thumbs up soil and nutes

I use an all organic local nursery soil that has evrything from bat guano to micro this micro that ,mushroom compost. It smells so rich and then I will add soome seedling soil to fluff up the mix and deter gnats. I also add perlite. And then for flower I add some tomato bone and bloodmeal fert mixed into the soil. I use growmore seaweed extract for veg which I dont think I need anyway because my soil keeps my plants very green and healthy. (do not over water or your screwed for a while. For flower I use pure blend bloom (regular version) This stuff smells so good rich and yummy. I am 100% organic not even a tiny time released anything. I have grown monster colas without the need for chemicals Yuck. As bog said if you time the transplant right then you will have good roots to make your plants huge.

This is a fucking story Im writing, sorry about that.

I got some ocean forest potting soil and it did not do well. Maybe it was old or something .I did half OF and half with a local mix and the local did much better. could the age effect the quality?

If I were you I'd look into getting the oceanforest soil.In my opinion it's about as good as it gets. You don't even need to add any nutes for the first 2-3 weeks.

i would only advise using pure blend by itself if your soil is well amended.
otherwise i would use it in conjunction with other nutes.
it is more of a supplement than a stand alone.
with npk's of
1 - 0.5 - 1 grow
0.5 - 0.5 - 1 bloom
it really doesnt have high enough concentrations of the major nutes to sustain good growth throughout a full grow.

now if you add to your soil worm castings, guano, etc
it should do really well.
though, you may have to supplement in mid to late flowering.

keep in mind that pb is not a stand alone formula, its a compost solution. the main function of which is to provide naturally occuring growth hormones such as cytokenins and auxins as well as vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, humates, trace minerals, and organic plant acids

hope this helps

"The prestige of government has undoubtedly been lowered considerably by the prohibition law. "Prohibition will work great injury to the cause of temperance. It is a species of intemperance within itself, for it goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation, and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes.
