KFC Kush
So nice to see all the breeding/crossing that is going around outside of the seedbanks...why should they have all the fun??
This will be my first seed to harvest test of these particular strains/varieties and I am very happy so far, some of the genetics go back to the mid 90's and earier. Here are the strains that I began with...Kush, trainwreck, DD, J5. I am calling the kush KFC because I know it came from Amsterdam but I do not know the particular strain...I got it from a good friend kush(K)from(F)c...s(C). So, untill I find out exactally which type of Kush it is(if anyone can identify as this thread goes along, please do), kfc just helps me identify it from others that I got domestically...besides, humor goes a long way to make the ladies happy!! I originally got a male and female and crossed them together and the male to my DD, a trainwreck and J5(have no idea of the genetics, but it has a very sweet kind of grape like smell and taste). The DD was my first and best creation and lasted for years as a clone from one seed. Its line can be traced back to early days(mid 90's) silver pearl, hog, northern lights and maybe super skunk. I consider these to be almost heirloom as it was almost 10 years ago. I was able to cross her with the kfc male just before I lost the strain to a horrible pythium outbreak...please bow your heads for a moment of silence...thanks. I was able to re-cross from the first set of seeds but did not really get the see the bud at full potential, I was still having pythium problems. So now I have some F2 crosses and just went to 12 hrs yesterday. Here they are- #1 kfc X trainwreck #2 (kfc x j5)F1x(kfc x DD)F2 #3 (kfc x DD)F2 #4 (#3) x (#1) #5 (#3) x (kfc)F2 They all have new names but I will post those later when I find out if they are worth doing so. I have also kept two males from this seed #4 and #5 as they are the most diverse of the lot. I did pick them from quite a few males and they by far have the best traits that I am looking for in the breed. Out of around 35 beans that germinated, I got about half females...not bad. I will take indivdual shots of each strain and post soon. super gum and DD were some of my first creations back in the day this was the first generation of seed from the kfc male along with the pollen used to breed the current seed new strains with no pythium and looking fine Last edited by Dlux; 05-03-2007 at 09:08 PM.. |

Not much of a pic update on the new stuff but I do have a treat for all those doing their own thing.
This pic is of the original Double D(DD) that I created about 10 years ago...it has hog, NL and silver pearl lines, maybe another...I had quite a few nice strains back then and was doing alot of mixing. Incredible potency, taste and smell...yield was very consistant averaging over 2oz per plant at 90 days, that is from cuttting to harvest, not a 90 day flowwer. This is one of my main ingredients to my new test grow, I am sad that I no longer have the DD anymore but happy that I was able to pick up at least half her DNA before she was gone. Back to the test... The trainweck X kush cross has some very nice potential, some are very tall and lanky like the train but some of the others are very thick and bushy, showing alot of the kush...will be interesting to see the difference in the end result. The other 4 that have the DD mix in the gene pool are looking great...all are very thick and although it has been a while since I have seen the DD in her full glory, this brings me back. Should have some pics next week on the day 14 update. Last edited by Dlux; 05-03-2007 at 11:01 PM.. |
