Himalayan gold

Hello Franco,

I bought some seeds of Himalayan gold recently, grew them and produced F2 with it. This strain seems to have great potential but is unfortunately quite undocumented in the various forums. I tested some of the F2 and they were very potent, I enjoyed it a lot !

I remember we discussed about it together via pm at OG maybe two years ago (i was registered as Rahan). You told me it was a product of several backcrosses of a motherplant but I can't remember exactly and I didn't saved the message :(

I heard from Shanti it was an 100% Nepalese cross? But sometimes it is also described as a North Indian / Nepalese blend?

Other question debated: The strain would not be exactly the same as few years ago? Do you confirm and if so, what are the modifications ?

Many questions, but I would like to cross it again with a Nepalese and/or a North Indian so I'm interested in its ligneage

I hope you'll find time to answer, and thanks in advance

Good vibes

Sorry for the delay in replying! I've been extra-busy making seeds, and the 420Cup is on......
The Himalaya Gold is the same genetic it has always been (Nepalese x North Indian) and it is now one of the most popular outdoor strains from the Green House catalogue.
If you cross it again, I would suggest a short Nepalese or North Indian indica....
:-)

H.Gold is excellent outdoors even here at 55
If you want to make a GREAT cross go for Nebula (Paradise S).
A mix of heaven.
Good luck.

Thanks for the answer

And about the breeding work (if not a secret...) ? How much can we consider it as stabilized?

All Nepalese and North Indians I have in hands are quite short (7-9 weeks), unfortunately, I was not able to put my hands on a true Nepalese sativa.... Right now, I grow some of your Himalayan with some individuals of my own cross named Colombian Collie (Colombian Santa Marta gold x Jamaican Blue Mountains), so the cross with Nepalese would be for a next future

I like to buy commercial seeds to see how much the breeders have done a great work, compared with the landraces (and my own F1 with them) I grow . And I must say that Sam's strains, Greenhouse strains and Serious strains are allways top to grow and smoke !

Good vibes
