Hey canizzla
The meter is really important,IMO. My last grow I must have spent about 80 bucks on drip tests. I could have just bought a meter and I would have been alot happier.
You can get awesome results with just base nutes and the booster.
Good Luck

This is my first coco grow and already I think I can safely say, a PH meter is the most important thing for you to own. If your PH is off, everything is off!

Thanks for your answers guys

I have nerver used PH meter in soil and it has been fine, never had any troubles with sick plants, so can it be fine in coco to? or will my plants get sick and die, a big yield isnt important for me cuz i smoke very very little,i just grow cuz i love the growing part
And doesnt coco "hold" a PH around 6,5? If it does then it shoudnt be necessary with PH meter?

Keep smokin

from what i know with coco if u have problems they will show faster with soil it wll take a whille to see the ill effects.

im tryina get this shit to a science so i have a PH meter and a meter to measure the ppm's so i know my plants are in optimum conditions. its just like a human body ya know gotta know whats goin in and out lol to stay healthy

but if u dont wanna do all that u can get by without it, im sure some vets can testify to that

i'm using ghetto ass tap water that comes out like 7.5 ph and i mix nutes and still have to add ph down to get it down to my range of like 5.2-6.2.. i think all the minerals and shit in the water buffers the ph well cause i've never had a drop in ph from pbp like many do with ro water.

i'm using gh 3 drop test and ph up and down and trying to keep everything really consistent and looks to be doing okay.

i know flower is the most important time for keeping things 'dialed in' so i have yet to experience that part of coco growing.. but i'm betting my gh test drops will work just fine.

Wassup SEEDY, dude I had the same strips you do and almost fucked up my entire grow. pH was not the problem, ec was. Had a buildup going on and didn't know it by using the strips. Bought a Hanna ec/tds/pH meter and been staying on top of it. Started to get away from me a few more times but I caught it with the meter. I'm not saying I'm the fucking bomb cause of my meter or anything like that, dude. Just mentioning it so you'll know. Kinda be carefull, k?

Peace

I started watching my EC with a meter after week 2 or so of flower and have also given them a good flushing once around 24 days in. Everything seems to be going pretty well, I have some yellowing right now so I am going to bump up the food a little and add a small amount of cal mag. I think (I dunno, have to look at my calendar!) I am about to start week 6 and feeding with only A, B and PK 13/14 I have some of the frostiest plants I have ever grown. Size wise they are coming along nicely as well, overall I am VERY impressed at my results vs the simplicity involved. If you can't pickup a combo meter and are limited to 1 only, hands down, get the PH meter. The thing I am really digging about the Coco is that I really only feed them the Canna A and B, with small amounts of PK, so I find it pretty easy to i guess 'scale' my feeding by adjusting by the ml/gallon slowly up until things look good and then if things take a turn, I can always flush when i do my daily watering and feed them a slightly weaker amount. I had initally thought about possibly using some other supplements as well in flower but the Coco is thriving for me without anything but the Canna line so I am not adding anything else in for the time being! Basically what I am trying to convey here is that as long as you can keep your PH dialed in, everything else is very easy to stay on top of provided you keep your nutes simple!
