Bubba Kush x Deep Chunk Test Grow

Greetings!

I hope all are well!!

My kidneys continue to attempt my murder and spit out stones at least once per week and then get infected.

I will not be defeated...maybe.

This is my test grow for Hill Temple Collectives Deep Chunk IBL x Bubba Kush.

Did I get that right on the IBL?

The first round of test seeds were crushed to atoms in the mail but the second stayed up!

I salvaged 3 seeds and have my new seeds ready to go once I clear the room.

So I only have 3 for now, with more coming.
****************************** *************************
First Round :

3 seeds in spring water, 3 seeds cracked in 4 hours.

Thats right ..here is a photo at 3 hours..on March 2nd

This is today April 11, now one of them had an attack of my famous Pythium root rot but is recovering, she is small, but the fact she survived at all is a miracle and shows real strength, especailly considering this rot killed all other infected specimens at that time.

That is a ruler.

Number 1

number 2

number 1 leaf size

I will update as time allows.

blessings

mine started off like that but quickly lost that extreme fatness...you can still see a lot of the dc and bk influence but i was expecting some of the biggest fans i'd ever seen...we'll see how it goes in the stretch...

lovely looking plants! definitely don't be afraid to bring out the shears and give em a topping or trimming, they seem to be responding much better to training than either of the parent lines.

hello J cann

Thanks for posting.

I was looking at your Bubba Chunks thread and am more than impressed.

The only difference I see in your METHOD with soil is Coco.

I have read good things about it, and am wondering about trying it.

Any thoughts?

Remember, coco has no cation exchange capacity.... You'll basically be doing a hydroponic grow if its all coco medium.... Add some vermiculite/organic matter for CEC and water holding capacity..... Talk to bonecarver, he's got some coco grows under his belt.....

Hey Pipeline!

Good to "see" you!

How is your other garden?

My Bleeding hearts are really nice this year, and ive got to put up some pics of my columbine collection, I am doing flowers instead of so many veggies this year if the health allows.

What I mean about the coco is ADDING it to soil as a buffer, I was reading a big article in Green House Mag, [a big nursery magazine] that my brother sends me from his nursery outfit, all about coco as opposed to peat in soil mixes.

And the cation exchange section of the article , along with Cornell Universities paper on it for AG business points out some other things too, like no acidity..so PH balance will be different.

I have FINALLY gotten my soil where the plants inside really love it..so I am real hesitant to make changes, you know?

But it dries so fast now, I wanted to use something that would hold water a bit longer ,but NOT like vermiculite.

Just too compacting, that vermiculite.

I am using Fox Farm Ocean Forest after having made my own soil for years, mine is pretty much a duplicate of Fox Farm but its alot of ingredients to buy and alot of mixing and time. Just FFOF and 30% perlite and a few "secret spices"

My health is bad, almost all the time now, as my kidneys may not make it.

So the less of that kind of work the better.

What is you take?
