my girlfriends dog ......
Hello ladies, maybe you can tell me if I'm way out of line here. First off I'm an oldtimer and sort of set in my ways a little. My problem is not that I don't like her dog, or animals, but they are just that....animals ...not people. When we go to bed the dog gets in bed with us and I have tried and tried and tried to explain I am not a big fan of this but it just doesn't penetrate. I even have gotten to the point where I can accept it at the end of the bed but the dog comes up in the middle of the night and crawls under the covers on her side.
Then when I put my arm around her and feel fur I am INSTANTLY awake and freaked out about it. (as you can see its 4 oclock in the morning right now, I just left her house and came home). I always respect her feelings about things she doesn't like or has issues with but I am not feeling that respect back. Please understand this is a REAL issue with me mentally. I spent alot of time in the military and it was not the sleep in the barracks kind. I spent most of my twenties sleeping in the woods and jungles of the world where something furry next to you is not a good thing 99.9 percent of the time. Its a psychological issue with me and I don't think I should have to change. I love her dearly as she does me but she just thinks its funny in a sort of OCD sort of way and tries to laugh it off when I mention it. I can't even stand crawling under the sheets for some fun knowing that dog has been there, it just creeps me out. I am almost to the point of just not staying there anymore .

So you don't live together?
If you don't live together you should keep your mouth shut buddy, it's not your place to tell her what to do with her dog. If the dog disturbs you, don't sleep there. Have her sleep at your place maybe? Or you could hire a dognapper? Hehehe |

You might want to not stay at her house for a while and she will see you are serious about the dog in the bed, then maybe she will try to get the dog to sleep on the floor...sounds like she doesnt realize how this effects you....sounds like you really love her,so try to talk to her again..let her know that it really freaks you out...good luck

The last two posts make great points, but i'd go way further. This is the so-called red flag. Do not move in with her until you decide to marry, these things will happen if you live together. Aren't you glad you have your spot to retreat to at 4 am when the flippin flea bag is penetrating your bed. She won't change, the dog will always be there...

If the no dog talks arent penetrating i hope something else is to make up for that fricken rodent of a dog. My gf has 2 maltese and 2 shitzus and the shitzus arent bad but the maltese i swear i want to fucking hang those dogs. Same situation, I try to sleep in her bed but her dogs are there and I dont know, theres just something about sleeping w/ animals that reminds me of a stable, I cant stand that shit.

If you don't like her dogs just don't sleep there, not that hard of a concept And besides, if your getting upset about your woman's animals... how happy are you really with her? If you're happy with her, you're letting some stupid shit get between that... am I wrong? |

there's an Australian comedy series just started about this! lol
It's called Wilfred - "It's about a cantankerous, over-eating, bong-smoking dog who thinks he's human and torments the live-in boyfriend of his female owner." Here's a 2 minute youtube clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7jG9_pmDRQ The first two episodes can be found by searching for Wilfred at mininova.org And here's the official website for it: https://www21.sbs.com.au/wilfred/ |

I'm alergic to my g/f's cats... she has 4.. we live together but i love the cats as much as her and they get along great with my dog.. I would never complain or expect her to get rid of them... I will suffer or use alergy pills.
