Here´s a stocky , very stout and bushy male from Dj Short´s very limited batch of Old Time Moonshine , its a BlueBerry f5 ....

It was a slower starter as the females i have found , now he´s in the 12th week veg , just for being sure that he´s NO autoflowering phenotype , i kept him under 24h´s for 8 week and for 4 weeks now under 18/6 , he showed balls very fast , after 6-8 days the gender was visible , ... short after showing he stopped the production of new sacks , so the proof is on its way ... , i will wait another 6-8 week for being sure


i sticked one branch into the aero cloner for testing the cloning ability

If this male passes the AF test .... , he will be test crossed to many females from different origin and unrelated to each other ..... , so we can figure out the added traits at best ...

that was the funny part of the post ....
Now to the Otm male pictured ... , he slowed down the cluster producion ... , but to far away from going back to the veg cycle ... , the fan leafes started to turn reddish/blue on the edges of the fingers ......

I filled the "free spot " with this veeeeeeeeeeerrrrryyyyy slow growing (for now unsexed) Otm , the plant showed no preflowers when i put it from the seedling/clone flat [24/0 Mh] into the veg room [18/6 HPS]

This should be good. Its so much easier finding a good female to breed because you follow it through its whole life and can smoke the final product to test.

I would like to be able to grow males out to completion to be able to get ideas on which males are better than others. But for now my space limits my abilities. Im interested to see what traits you use to decide your male breeders.

to have that said growing out the males dont let you know if they give you good offspring ... , growing out the test crosses is the only proof .... , as said it takes most of the time , but its nessesary to determine the quality of the males choosen for progeny testing

scorpioking13, what you can do if space is an issue, is make some DIY red greenery style tub chambers... and use like 2 CFL's and keep it totally isolated... with your males in there.... then you can make seeds with them, and keep them revegging in the isolated tubs... run the progeny and chose your favorites, without having to take up much of your room..... Just an Idea, what I do....
