In the souther USA the summers get up to 95f on the hottest days esp in July. We've had summers that were that hot for weeks.
How well does W.Satin hold up to such high heat? |

At 6 inches from my cool tubed 400 watt HPS (265cfm Stanley Blower venting the light), my cab temps some times spike to 100 F deegrees (starting at 80), and I got a white satin thats thriving.
One of the most "rugged" plants I've grown. Also I just put a satori in DWC and after 2 weeks growth has exploded with fat "indica-wide" leaves. (which I find interesting, since its presented as a Nepalese Sat-dom.) So, I gotta recomend Satori, as well as White Satin if you need good yeilders when it gets hot. Like 100 degrees Farenheight (38c) hot.

hey dasme,
the satins I grew had to bear temps up to 36/38 degrees celsius before showing signs of overheating.I guess that's more than enough for most conditions but for really hot climate, mandala advises to grow satori and/or kalichakra(tropical plants). grow on |

@Zaxxon63: the huge fan leaves of Satori are a trademark of this strain. It comes in part from her unusual high vigour. But also because we breed in such a way to blend the best of sativa into such features as the high, and let the indica part flow into the overall vegetative structure to get very tough and easy-2-grow sativas that remain manageable in height. Cheers, Mike

You can take clones as soon as the lower shoots harden up sufficiently. This usually takes 3-4 weeks. As the plant matures the shoots further up progressively become available for good cloning stock. Since our strains have very thick shoots and are quick to grow you can expect to have a big selection quite early.

i just purchased a couple of strains from the bay, White Satin and Kalichakra. both are breeds with excellent reputations, and i've read that some of the Mandala strains don't require germination. what's up with that? i germed 10 hashberries, and 9 came through, so i was cool with that; but that was the strain that wasn't supposed to be germed. so how does it affect the plant if you do, say, out of habit?
so far i like what i'm hearing about the white satin strain. the heat resistance will make for good CO2 weather.

Does anything with overall experience growing Mandala strains think its safe to say all their strains are heat resistant due to landrace genes? I just posted a thread about #1's resistance....

We work so hard keeping our genetics clean so I hope she is going to make you sweat a bit. ![]() The clones look great. I'm not so sure about the necessity of feeding the females so early though. Isn't Fox Farm a complete soil? lotusfalls: what do you mean with "don't require germination"? All seeds have to germinate. Maybe you heard that they shouldn't be soaked in water/paper towels. Read our germination info for further details. ItsGrowTime: I answered your thread. We also have a cool chart (pun intended) in the FAQ that shows the main traits such as heat resistance for all strains. Cheers, Mike
