A Hydro Joint.

I need 50 posts to be able to get into chat.

so.

1). I do this, which is, drink 3 beers, smoke 3 bowls, and start typing.

2). Wait.

3). Yeah, right, i'm not fucking waiting.

4). Start a Journal, then i can chat. fine.

so, (4) is kind of like (1) too, so 4+1 equals...

there is no 5. contemplate that.

i've only had 1.5 beers and my bowl holds a little under .35 fluffed to my liking.

ps. also some kick ass rare genetic and bomb hybrids in seed form soon to arrive from a kind IC'er, and some more genetics. i'm a genetic junky who enjoys recording statistical drivel for all my grow conditions. oh shit, my bowl is empty...

to the facts!

2'x4' HydroHut
400w galaxy digital ballast,
sun systems hood w/glass
4" vortex and proFilter carbon, uh, filter

the 500w business. well, i have a 150, 2x250 HPS ballasts and a large MH of unknown wattage. until i tighten everything up, i'm going to augment the 400w with the 150w to the side of it. i plan on a 750x digi upgrade if it's not too hot here in the summer, so i'll see. the usable depth on that would simplify things and i'd rather run higher w/sq ft with that better penetration, single light.

Layout will be ten gallon tubs. 3 will fit easily, but maybe just 2 for now. 2-4 plants per tub, i dunno. One will be under the 150w, close to the canopy to guarantee max lumens while the plants are compact and settling in.

the other will be mostly under the 400, the 400 is hung on the right, the 150 will hang on the left.

plants will be rotated left to right, under the 150 for some weeks until the stretch requires they be under the higher hung 400, then over to the right again to finish ripening in the edge of the 400's bulb tip.

Genetics: power plant will be running soon, AKxWW is on the go. i have found a lot of unlabeled, perhaps unviable seeds of diverse heritage, but don't want to go there unless i have to. kushghani (my name, don't know) just arrived, and clones are available too. i've got one going with the AK, thanks to a kind soul i ran into. serendipity is rockin the indica lot.

the AKWW's after 2 weeks or so from seed. i had pruned the sunleaves and topped them, to get them into LST action pronto. ironic that my preferred method sometimes is to stress them into the low stress method i guess. but they bounce back quick, and plants not under shade grow faster...

...maybe a week of growth or more, and 2 days after being LST'd.

15 days, that's right. running temp dif on them with one of those electrified duct dampers, connected to a Y duct piece. i vary the thermostat depending on a guessed 3 day weather avg's, but it usually just varies in bursts then calms down. wanted to see how it worked here, i won't be using it after a run or two. summer will bring interesting vent stuff though. miss Ranger2K from OG now...

so some random stats from my notebook.

ppm from 930 (gh lucas + silica) to 1150, diluted it with pH'd water. this took a day, then it slowed to half as much uptake for a bit. pH is drifting up slowly, water is highly alkaline to start with, but GH brings it down to around 6.2-6.5, and 5ml of gh pH down for 6 gallons will drop it a half point from ranges in 7-5.5 i've observed and noted recently. i've kept it at 6ish, and dropped it to high 5 for a a few days now. uhm, let me hit this...

so i'm keeping the ppm between 1050 and 950, with a 100 or so bump with nutes in a day or so. with my height manipulation, it's kind of hard to see if im stunting a plant with too high or low nutes, and seeing a lack of growth. but even on slow growing hybrids, the continuity of flowering leaf patterns will emerge and i'll know if it's really growing slowly by timing that usually. you simply can't beat just running it 3 times and varying it. might as well find out now, and not 7 runs later that a slight change in nutes would get me ++whatever with that plant.

these don't grow big sun leaves, very cola oriented. what you see, will be very near the eventual growth profile, just some colas...pretty stable cross, height changes and vigor mostly, lemony clear up, then body tingle high, pretty much all similar. some taste like dry lemonade mix though.

it's about the erb man!

my mood improves as my colas take form. my friend has come by and brought some nice treats, and some genetics arrived with him, a few packs actually, that we'll get to later.

so, anyone ever see nanners on their purchased meds (sats mostly) and immediately hear a transmission dying in their head? evidently most are just malformed, only a handful in my life have i been able to detect pollen. but it could have already coated the jar/buds...

mmm...oh well, this is one haze hybrid that the spray bottle of water will have to protect against for the next few days. too mood enhancing

anyone used those pollination restrictors? like DutchMaster Reverse? spray at beginning of flower and flower set evidently. i hate random pollen.

ok, to business.

whoooaas....that haze just hit me, minty lil binger, that one. some hybrid, not peppery at all.

ok ok.

so. 5 seeds were trained, 4 flowering, 4 well fem'd it seems so far. the 5th one will be entering very soon.

i've seen two phenos, the usual ones admittedly. a slightly taller, flower spiral from very far bottom and beautiful 3node-at-a-time spacing, upturned leaves, light feeder. looks like cypress trees, but white, and crystally.

the other smells like rancid pine, and tastes like vapo'd pinesol. grows oblong tophead colas, top 2/3rd or so will be flowers, and has a bulge in the middle of the usually shortish colas.

1.5-2 times stretch roughly it seems this time. i've stopped temp reversing their day/nights too.

a genetic koala has crapped a rainbow in my brain!

i've got those HB and ST seeds going, the HB came up in like 48 hrs from under peat, and the ST still has 2-3 that haven't popped. 8ish of the HB are up growin. i'll put some pics up of those.

the seeds in the middle were just brought down from my mail addy for me. a heart right cool guy gifted me with some sour diesel IBL f2's, and sour diesel x trainwreck, blueberry, great white shark and white widow. SD IBL male i'm assuming on these chronic fems. i have just under 30 that arrived looking strong, unsorted. this will be fun.

also tomorrow some pics of the powerplant (put in peat) and the 5th AKWW, ready to get dropped into flowering within the week. the PP are unsexed, the AKWW a virtually guaranteed fem.

here's the powerplant to go in with the delayed AKWW, and the tray of hashberry and satori.

nutes are up at 1050-1200 pH at low 6. staying steady, refilling with the equivalent of a veg nute (lucas, nPK proportion wise) mix with 1/3rd part plain water added to it.

it's holding steady. i planned a little more conservative with my next run, and am doing a recirculating drip, peat+perlite. nothing fancy. seems the water here is hard enough to buffer the pH VERY well, and MWC has been going completely problem free. lots experimenting to find out this places quirks anyway.

the slimtall pheno gets light tipburn around 1200-1300 it seems, and the oblong cola one looks happier around 1400 and greens up considerably. this is a decent middle point it seems, everyone is in good form so far.

the power plant, unsexed in 4inch pots.

hashberry and satori, 90% germ and pop so far in 4-5 days. gorgeous mature seeds btw...

oh yeah, the 5th AKWW (tri for a second, but growth normal off the meristem) too, it's beautifully rooted and growth spurtin.

i've got to do some building of veg expansion (4 2ft 20watts atm, 1350lum ea.) but i haven't set anything up seriously yet.

did get recirc. supplies today though. fun construction time now.

here's some oblong, 3 of this, 1 of the other it seems regarding plant pheno ratio, not 2/2 like i thought.

happened to be just about good morning time when i was done trimming. broke out the tester spear and a nice ogxhog nug.

neautral tasting with no cure, raw air dry in warm weather. smooth toke though. taste will improve, it's not hot wet steam though, it'll mellow nicely soon.
