hey guys can any one help me with this i want to play with a soilless mixture with some bag seed i had saved , but i am kind of lost here i grow manly with hyrdos or soil just want to play with it for a bit till i get some cash going and then i will buy some coco here what i mixed up can you guy tell me if it will be ok or should i re mix a new batch

1 part peat moss
1 part small perlite (ther out of chunky)
1/3 cow manure
tablespoon of lime

i have gh floranova grow and bloom
gh flora 3 parts nutes

now how often do i water them what nute streng do i use and any other helpful hints

currently growing chem x ? x c-99 hyrdo and soil
starting up ak47 x bubble berry for soil out door grow
and unknow mex bagseed for a soiless grow

Steve...save up for what? You already spent more on that stuff than some coco will cost. You can get coco coir in most towns. Just go to the local Pet Store. They sell bricks for $5 or $6 dollars. It is used as reptile bedding. It is good quality too. Just rinse to be safe.

I don't think people know about the pet store connection. Most people think a hydro store or mail order.

You can be using coco coir tonight if you wanted.

thanks Tarzan of THC for the heads up on the pet stores but one there are none in this town would have to drive 40 miles to the closest one but main thing is i am out of a job right now and my funds are low, and cant afford gas to get there. as for the other stuff i have had them a wile now not like i just went out and got it.but i when check o it in a few weeks.

well Tarzan of THC i said the hell with it and drove to apet store and got a brick of it hell was only 3.25 but was not the brand you was talking about its called flukers repta-bed 100% coconut fibers don't say how much it weights all it says is its enough to fill a 40 gallon terrurium. now got to find out what to do with it now.

That is one of the other brands. It makes enough to make the bedding for a 40 gallon aquarium not fill it. It should make about 2-3 gallons of stuff.

It is fine but it is still shreaded. It isn't just pith. It is some of the best coco coir.

The pet store connection is sweet isn't it.

THAt it is Tarzan of THC but it didnt make 2 to 3 gallon more like a gallon and some left to fill a few 6 oz dixie cups

Yeah that stuff is good at the pet store but a bit more $ than hydro all n all. 3.25 is better, I've seen it around 6.00.

Thats awesome on the Pet store hook up Not that hydro stores arent around here. Just like to spread around my shopping. If I can do more at non grow realted stores the better. LOL they look at you funny though when you walk out of Fred Meyers (Krogers) With Mg Seedling tray and starting cells but no seeds LOL

well in my case the only hyrdo store was 30 miles a way and the last trip i made there they was closed and found out they went out of business so only choice i now have is buy what i need from retails stores or order what i need on line, fixing to call a few big nurseries and see if they have coco peat that may save me a lot of time, money and trouble.
