Clone a 2 week flowering plant??
hi all,
i want to put some plants into flowering but im not yet ready to clone them after 2 weeks of flowering, once i pull the males, i would like to clone all of my females. after 2 weeks they shouldnt have any bud on them, only starting to show hairs would it be ok to take cuttings from them and clone them at this time? would the plants stress at all from the cuts? would it possible cause hermi? |

You can pick you friends and you can pick your nose, but you can't wipe your friends under the couch

It should not hermie but don't take to much off 1 plant,
also 2 weeks should be about the longest(but other will disagree) that you should take clone from a flowering plant. But it is very doable, but the longer in flower the longer it will take to show roots. |

yeah you should be ok, i've taken cuttings all the way up to 45 days flowering. mine didn't stress or hermie....branches get broken off during flowering in nature right?
my 40 some day cuttings took 4 days to root. Last edited by Time2Unite; 03-18-2007 at 09:57 PM.. |

yes you can clone up to harvest actually...it will just take longer for those clones to re-veg....you can also harvest your plant leave a little bud at the bottom...chop half the roots off and put it on 24 hrs light and it will reveg i have done it a couple of times with out problems

ty very helpful, i think i actually decided just to reveg them and then take clones
um, you dont cut half your roots off to reveg - not sure if thats a typo, but you dont do that... all you do is cut the entire plant off the main stem except for the very first node, you leave some bud and fan leaves. |

check the bonsai mother thread... shows how to cut roots... some people actually just break the root ball by hand too... and transplant to fresh soil heres the link https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=31919 and here's some pics from the thread of him cutting the roots of the mother ![]()
