First time Cocogro need Help
Hey guys i just started using cocogro in 6"x6"x6" pots, hydrotron on bottom with some perlite mixed in, ebb and flow. I didnt know much about it when i bought it, happy to find some info on it, I only still have the nutes from my first grow. I have been feeding them fox farm grow big, technaflora magical, and b-1 red. My ? is until i can order some bonticare nutes that work best for my coco, will these do. I used plain water to my brick, no cal-mag added. the magical is pretty much the same thing, will it do? I was thinking about hand watering them next time with just water and the magical to soke my coco real well with it, as coco need lots of cal and mag from what i read. I am watering to times a day. Any help would be great. For some reason i cant post pics or i would, if i mod sees this maybe they can tell me why.
Sorry guys got it now, Getting use to icmag, it just said in the bottom left of the page that i couldnt post pic, but i can. Also these plants where transplanted here from just plain hydrotron about 4 days ago. Last edited by PuttPutt33; 03-18-2007 at 02:57 AM.. |

Sup, putt. Are you having any problems with the plants right now or are thinking about the magical as a preventative thing? If everything is running smooth then I wouldn't add it now. If you start to see either a calcium or a magnesium deficiency then I would use it. Most of the people using calmag are using pbpro. I haven't heard much about foxfarm or seen anyone use it. So your not really going to know if it's necessary until you see a problem. Keep a close eye on em and you can catch anything early!
Good Luck (:

Dalton thanks a lot man, I just read that you only need to use certain nutes on coco, so when i read that i was like o shit is something coming kinda thing? I was going to get PbPro full line soon anyways, so it is good that is good on coco. Yea they look good, they are about 21 days from seed, the one in the front row middle almost died so that is why she is so little. This is my second grow, I really enjoy growing, i think i will always grow for fun even if i dont smoke it.
![]() Also i topped half of them, as you can probably tell about 6 days ago. This is a more current image of the plants. Last edited by PuttPutt33; 03-18-2007 at 03:31 AM.. |

Well its the beggings of problems is what it looks like to me...
you really do need to get a coco specific fert... PBP works well as I have seen alot of threads on here with people using it.. I use some of their products and supp my canna, so I like their stuff too.. What is your PH?? I like to have mine at like 5.8 on some watering up to 6.2... I vary.. with 6 being optimum... what are the PPM?? Its hard to say what that prob is but coco is notorius for cal/mag potasium issues... as it binds K and mag.... The nice thing with coco is... you don't really need to do anything... but get ur program RIGHT... and then water... so lets see what ur prg is.. and we will go from there... But I can tell ya right now... I would go get some PBP LK cannazyme PBP Bloom.. Peace BB |

agree with Berger except i would get a nute specifically for coco only, like Canna or AN monkey juice etc....PB is decent in coco but still has issues. IMO your problems will just get worse until u do....no need to reinvent the wheel until u know what a wheel is supposed to do.

Yea well i was trying to make the fox farm and Magical from technaflora get me by until i flip the switch, i just spent lots of money in the hut and everything in it so not much cash flow left but within 5 days i will have the stuff ordered. My ph is yellow. Which is suppose to be six..( i know i need to get a meter for like 150 bucks that tells me ppm, ec, ph all that...I will when i can.) I dont know the ppm... I have just given them half strength nutes. test ph. test temp...66. Water till 25 percent run off....
U think i should get the Monkey Juice Huh? yea i read about taht stuff. It is better? Can you use AN's additives like big bud and Overdrive? Or does that stuff not work for coco. Would i still need the cal-mag from Bonticare and LK as i hear it is some good shit? Im all ears..Putt......Thanks lots for the help , Big ups to yall |

DON'T GET THE MONKEY.. IMO... I have used it... there are some post on here when I was using it... major problems.. but thats because the fertilizer had fallen out of suspension.. and there were sand like particles on the bottom of the container...
Lots of other people have had problems with MJ too... take a look over at AN's forum.. And let me say I have to STRONGLY agree with Aeric... I didn't want to say anything.. I DO use PBP Bloom and LK and Silica Blast and the Vita one too.. BUT CANNA is my base... and my plants ALWAYS look nice... if I have a problem... I usually just go with straight Canna A&B till it goes away.. always works.. but then again I usually never have problems... I tried Monkey Juice Back in Jan of this yr... all the hype over AN.. etc... bud I was really bummed, I went back to Canna b4 the crop was done, just to pull the plants out of their FUNK... however I will be the first to say that MANY people have had GREAT results with Monkey Juice... just not me... :=} As for using the AN extra like BB etc... with Monkey Juice... THEY recomend to use them... However.. Coco already binds up K and Mag.. so that is why they make coco fertilizers "special"... since BB etc is made for "all round use" its not "specifically designed" for coco... So.. I don't know if those were SOME of the probs for me or not.. but that is the thought process I went through.. I can tell u this FOR SURE>. DON'T follow their CALCULATOR>.. ok?? Way to high on lots of things... :-) Here is my formula "basically" every thing is to 1 gal... Canna A&B= 8ml each Cannazyme=10ml 1 out of 3 waterings Rizotonic=4-8ml depending on time of cycle LK=4-6ml depending on time Silica Blast=3ml once or twice a week Sweet=3-6ml depending AN Carboload=3-6ml every other time early.. 2 out of 3 during bud Botanicare Boost (vitaman B stuff)=4ml every other time. I throw in canna bio boost a few times during bud.. and I use PK 13/14 around 3-6wks... I also stop using canna at end of bud 2 wks b4.. start throwing in PBP Bloom at 4-6ml gal.. I also like to throw in some benificials during veg.. and then again a couple in early bud... I know I have a BUNCH of diff things.... but the truth is.. my plants would do fine on just he Canna products and nothing else.... I just like to do more Peace... Yeah putt, simply put, yes u can use most of their additives.
Berger: I'm trialing monkey juice for the 1st time after using canna, just cause it's easier to get, doesn't have to be ordered thru mail etc....but the B Grow solution is exactly as u said with little crystals locked up in the mix. I think the problems u had are a bad batch thing...and i got some of that batch too....also when i did use PB alone in flower i used 1-2 calmag-PB and it was only for 2 weeks (weeks 4-6) while I waited for more canna to arrive, so the coir was already "seasoned" with the right nutes...otherwise it was like 1/4 strength using canna as the base. Calmag-PB alone did not garner the same good results in a clone veg situation. I would be more than happy to switch back to Canna if need be, but so far the plants are happy with their AN. I was using almost double the strength with Canna at this time also. |
