Seems like it would be easy enough to find out if they did have an issued warrant. Best bet is get a lawyer and one where they do an initial free consultation. Do a follow up with city hall until you get your q's answered.

And sometimes, you just tuk your tail between your legs and forget about these sort of things......ESPECIALLY IF YOU GROW...
They know your face/name/info/car, stir shit w/police and all it will take is a blown light on car for them to "harass" you. If they never pressed charges and I was growing at that time, I'd take it as a lesson learned and leave it at that

Hmm, well I bet there really was a warrant showing up on their computer and thats why you were arrested. Id bet you money this is how it played out:
1. You visit friend, neighbor (asshole) calls police 2. Cop pulls up, runs your license plate, gets your name (its registered to you, I assume) 3. Warrant pops up, cop already knows before you step outside that he is taking you in. 4. Asks to search your car for weapons and all that, again, because he knows he is taking you in. 5. He asks for ID to confirm you are the registered owner with the warrant 6. Cop takes you into custody, the PD researchs the warrant, discovers the mistake then releases you. You never hear anything else. Bottom line, if the warrant did show up in the system it isnt the cops fault. He was doing his job and since you actually got released without anything further thats your proof they figured it out. Let it go....and like someone else said, if you grow you dont want any additional attention. Oh, and cops generally have limited immunity from lawsuits in cases like this because the was just following his job duties. Its not like he just decided to arrest you when no warrant really existed. You can bet on that.

well if the cop thought you had a warrant then he did have probably cause to search you, so while he may not have been nice, its not necessarily true that he violated the law. The DA's office probably never filed charges because sine the warrant was taken care of then there was a chance the charges would be thrown out and they didn't want to waste their time on it.

Wait wait wait. Your story seems to be changing....or at least getting a lot more detailed.
So are you saying that the cop wanted to search you and the car, you refused, so he arrested you claiming a fake warrant was outstanding for your arrest, thus giving him search rights? Is that what you are saying happened?? Were these pills part of the "care package" you dropped off or did you just have the pills on you when the cop blocked you in? It wasnt your car and you were just a passenger and they didnt search her? Why were they asking for *your* permission to search *her* car? You were arrested with a bunch of pills but not charged with the possession? Btw, if they found the drugs on you then the arrest was legal. The search tactic may not have been but the arrest was. This story seems really odd to me. And realistically yes, you should let it go because no one on the "other side" is going to side with you on this. I wasnt there but I do think the arrest had merit. Feel lucky you arent looking at a possession (or worse, trafficing) charge for the pills where you have to prove to a judge/jury that the search was illegal.

The cops harrassed you and called you "loser" all night? All the times I've been locked up I've never seen/heard of that kind of behavior, its a good way to lose your job quick. And remind me to stay the hell outta your neighborhood,my neighbors would have either informed me I left my lights on or turned them off themselves, they probably wouldn't have called the police lol.And if they had,the officer wouldv'e either laughed or got pissed about a call for lights being left on in a car lol,did you make this crap up bro?Just sounds a little ridiculous to me this morning, forgive me if'n it's true and you live in hell lol

I read a story that had similar circumstances. A guy with a grow-op went on vacation while a buddy tended to the crop. The buddy parked in front of house with lights on. Neighbor sees car with lights on for extended period of time and house front door open, calls police. Cops arrive and bust the buddy in the house with hundreds of plants.

But why was he asking *you* for permission to search your *girlfriend's* car? Why wasnt he talking to your girlfriend since the car isnt yours? Now remember, a cop can pat you down for weapons and it's not a "search". If you had a big pocket full of pills and he felt them during a pat down, he can ask you what it is and if it's not something you want to pull out in front of the cop then that trips his reasonable suspicion.
Anyway, I think we are beating a dead horse on this. Just feel fortunate that you werent charged with the pills, and consider that nobody will feel too bad for you (meaning the people in the gov't that you are complaining to) since you *did* have illegal items on you. There are a lot of places in the US where you would have quickly been booked and charged with numerous felonies and all this would be a moot point.
