strawberry haze trifoliate??
So my friend bought a 10 pack of femenized strawberry haze seeds. He planted 8 and gave 2 to me. All germinated. He had 8 seedlings, then he went on vacation and now he has 0. But i still have my 2. I'm about 1 month into flowering on the 2 mothers, and also have a full round of clones just entering flowering after a month vedge. Growin method is hrdro, in a top of the line 2.6k bio bucket system. Two different phenotypes apeared, one tall and incredibly vigourous, the other was a trifoliate with two small leaves growing vertical from the center of the leaf. There really isn't much info on the strawberry haze anwhere. The breeders info on your websight is prety vague. Got any tips? Which is the prefered type? How bad is the stretch? Is it really a 10 weeker, or more like 12? Lots of nutes or a little? I wanna have optimum conditions so when i write my review in 2 months it'll be on quality product.

Thanks. Lots of lurking went getting that up and going. I thought somehow or another it could be done for cheep, but nope. It cost about 2 weeks of evenings after work and about 1500$ in material and fittings. And i allready had the lights and fans. I got big hopes. Really cant wait till they start to explode. I can say that the roots are far beyond anything i have experienced . I'm hoping more roots = more buds.

I just want to say that I grew for the first time ever with several different strains and out of all of them my Arjan's Strawberry Haze (ASH) might be my favorite. I'm going to continue evaluating the other strains and a final decision is going to take some time.
I took clones recently and later noticed one of them is from a trifoliate branch. I don't know anything about this but will be keeping an eye on it for possible further cloning if it works out. ASH was the most tolerant to the early over-fertilization from before my TDS meter arrived. I've been running them at 200-500ppm for clones, 800 for veg, and 1200 for bloom using GH 3 part. I assume those are your mothers in the corners? Too bad about the height of the light, I suppose those are keeping it up that high. What if you cut back your mothers to keep them at a similar height to your clones, allowing you to lower your light? I'm curious as to what the best strategy is for keeping a clone mother in the veg room without having it get too big or stretchy. This is a very easy plant to grow, and I wish you the best of luck. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results. |

Thanks for the reply Ohhh...Alright. It's nice to see that i'm not the only one in the world who has this plant going. Was it true to the ten week finishing time??? Now that i've seen the clones fill out a bit i'll be concentrating on the trifoliate. I hope that the yield/smoke and potency will be equal or above the other phenotype i have. The growth and budsites far surpass the other mom.
I guess i'll find out in about 1 month when the 2 moms come down. As far as the light hight... oh well at least the canopy is starting to fill out and reach the lights |

10 weeks will do the job, even if sometimes the 11th week can really bring out the deep strawberry-like scent and taste.
Keep your pH between 5.9 and 6.2 at flowering peak, and make sure P and K are assimilated properly. Nice setup, by the way! :-) Peace, Love & THC |

its420eh, sorry I missed that you were on 12/12 for everything, I see that now!
I'd have to check my notes but the first ASH I sent thru finished relatively quickly. I've got a kind of disorganized perpetual harvest with DWC buckets so I have to keep notes on everything individually, sorry I can't say exactly. Also I'm kind of new at this and am still getting my S together. However, I was very pleased with how quickly the plant progressed through flowering relative to the other plants (just a couple of bagseed plants grew out before it and took longer and were obviously inferior). franco.gh wrote in another thread that he was enjoying this strain, maybe above all others. I have some curing right now and from early samples (and some spectacular finger hash) I can tell you that the high is very invigorating, if I smoke some before bedtime I'll be awake for at least 45 minutes, my mind all atwitter with ideas flowing through. I should really get a micro-cassette recorder and stop rambling at you. The smell of the plant before harvest was fruitier and more pleasing than anything I'd had before. Your mothers should start to smell distinctively fruity in the next two weeks, and the smell will only intensify. It's great. |

Franco, thanks for the info. I'm going to have lots of patience in letting the first two mature properly. Should i Just watch the trichromes on them or go by new growth/pistils?
Ohhhh..Alright, once again thanks. The smell is unique. I cant put my finger on it but, it's getting stronger all the time.. I';m really really reeeealy looking foward to an uplifting buzz. You dont get sativas around here. Just fast bulky indicas that wanna lock you on the couch put you to sleep. Commercial schwag. But what can u expect for 1600+/- an lb. Good weed goes south for good money. Ohhh...Alright, did you do any trimming on your plants? |
