Pollinating Sadu
Mike, does polinating and producing F2 seeds cause a loss of vigour? I need to produce a future seed supply and want to keep the same genetic stability as the original seeds.

Mandala's strains are F1 hybrids, so the resulting plants wouldn't have hybrid vigor. Also you shouldn't expect them to be uniform - some might have the qualities of the hybrid, others will be more like the mother while the rest will be more like the father.
If you want seed stability you'll have to do some inbreeding yourself over a couple of generations, and even with that you'll not get the original hybrid vigor - it might also be hard/impossible for you to create an IBL strain with the same potency. If seed stability is what you want you should probably go for some established IBL strains like Bubblegum or Nothern Light. Last edited by blackone; 03-02-2007 at 04:06 PM.. |
