Ono, this year I'm going to do my outdoor grow in straight coco, too. I can hardly wait! Gonna put out clones come early May and will ultimately transplant to three-gallon pots...if everything goes well I hope to get some fat trees out of the deal. My only concern is the prospect of going through a lot of expensive nutes.
Anyway, yeah, check out Bonecarver's thread--it's a good one. Last edited by NPK; 02-23-2007 at 11:10 PM.. |

ty guys I will check out the thread...
I want to get clones out by mid March here.... I am also concerned about the amount of nutes it might take, that is why I was asking about using it as an admendment so I could use my old organic compost method ... but I do have a spot I could feed/water 1 plant daily... I would most likely use CNS17 grow/bloom on that one... @ $25 a gallon.. I figure for $50-75 I can get the single plant through the season...... I would sooo love to grow a all coco outdoor beast. I have grown some huge outdoor plants and if I would have hydro fead some of them I can only magine how large they would have gotten

depending on what climate you are in it could be a bad idea. It grows very quickly outside and the coco dries up extremely fast. It sucks down those expensive nutes extremely fast outside. If you are not watering or checking everyday your plants can die very quickly. I only grow in coco and its never really turned out great outdoors. Its meant for indoor growing and its not soil despite how it looks. Try it see what happens but my luck outside with it has been poor. Indoors its the mutha fuckin shit.
Grow in soil if outdoors. Last edited by Resin; 02-23-2007 at 11:46 PM.. |

I am in a very warm climate... If I do grow one in 100% coco it will be watered every day.If I use @20ml per gallon I would get 190 gallons of fert from a gallon ... so I bet I could get through the season on 1 gallon of grow and a gallon of bloom... possibly 2 gallons of grow.. so for $75 in ferts I could realize a very nice plant... thats cheaper than the price I would pay for electricity to burn the artificial sun.
Also I am thinking about possibly using a dripper system on it

hehe the part of coco meant for indoor growing is fun
![]() coco u can use anywhere u want - as long as u do it right - if the pot gets too dry outside - either transplant to an enormous pot that will hold more water - or install drip etc. if u cant check on ur plants often - its not a good idea to use it.. but this far i have to say COCO is the BEST outdoor medium i have ever tried.. no jokes.. as long as they recieve the water they need even the 10 gallon pots were dry at the end of the day ![]() its very important to shade ur pots and to make sure the sun or wind doesnt help drying the coco out. i must say the experience of growing coco outdoors took the edge of indoor growing.. just cant compare to the sun and hydro in good combo id say buds in coco with lots of sunlight can get maybe 4 x bigger than ur indoor ones - without exadgerating. the biggest yeilding ones were partly lost due to budrot - because it just got too dense in the tops.. just took a bit of rain to ruin it... theese plants didnt really recieve any veg at all - they were taken outdoors in beginning of august.. only thing that could improve this is to do it on an higher altitude with even more sun-hours. the sun kicks ass... and i want to use it! thats a 2liter pepsi bottle - a half gallon bottle? ![]() Last edited by bonecarver_OG; 02-24-2007 at 01:42 AM.. |

Coco's amazing insulating abilities will be the greatest aid in growing outdoors in this state, brother. Go for it, it'll be a breeze!
Peace, Nandro
