Johnny Blaze: Outdoors in Thailand
First off Khob Khun Krap (thank you very much) to Red for helping this to happen!!
I received the beans on Monday 19th Feb, I put 3 into water and overnight they popped! Tuesday evening I put them in some soil. The soil mix I have the JB in is made from composted cow manure 33.3% some coco 33.3% and some rice hulls 33.3%. There is also some various rock dusts and shrimp waste dusts that I found here, along with a bit of charcoaled rice hulls. I am starting these beans indoors under fluoros so I can keep a mom. I haven't got any Ph equipment but the mixture was allowed to sit for a day. I am just waiting for them to sprout any day now, when they do I will post a few pictures Peace!! Johnny goes to Thailand!
Hola Thaiphoon! I'm so happy to see your growing some of these fine genetics in your exotic location. My JB love the high altitude Colombian climate and are just starting to really flower. They are very uniform and Sativa like growing to a good size before flowering under the natural 12/12 daylight here (I started all mine outside from seed). Really nice plants that seem to be suited to the tropical climate and light cycles. I'm looking forward to watching your JB grow.

Hi redrider, your plants are very inspirational.
Mr. A I have not grown anything besides Thai genetics here in Thailand. I am a relatively new gardener. Like I said I have only started 3 beans, I hope that I will not make any blunders here growing them out! I am at 15N lat. The longest day, on June 22 is about 13 hours. If started indoor under 18/6 light schedule, what will the plants do when they are put outside? Will they veg, because the lights schedule is not exactly 12/12? Sorry if thats a silly question! |

Thaiphoon-
You and redrider down there in the tropics are gonna show some stuff with the JB's. I've got a pair indoors at 45 days flower and they are looking and smelling beautiful (I've started calling them my Jungle Bitches). Since I'm indoors take this for what it's worth, but I'm guessing your JB's will flower away if you're that close to 12/12. When I went 12/12 they jumped into flower immediately. I'd say just stand back and watch them grow, and they do grow fast and big! Last edited by joe cool; 02-23-2007 at 09:02 AM.. |

Well, the JB are taking their sweet ass time coming through the dirt! I may have done something I possibly shouldn't have done: this morning I VERY gently brushed the top soil off of the seeds. They are still alive and the roots are about 1 cm long and nice and white on all three of them! I hope its not too hot, It is about 30 degrees here everyday now...
Peace |

I have one healthy seedling, one so-so seedling and I screweded up one and accidentally killed it. All the seeds germinated, I was at fault for the low survival rate. I think I may have buried the seed a little too deep into the soil :(
The so-so seedling has a nice thick healthy looking stem. The reason I say it is so-so because the cotyledons have withered, but the tiny second set are still healthy, but very small. The healthy looks outstanding!! It has a nice deep red colored stem and awesome healthy green leaves! Peace. |
