The easiest way to avoid all the MS security problems is to use a Mac.

90% of all computers macs included are running spy ware.
I wouldn't worry about java or about active x controls and cookies, only home grown hackers use that. Worry about about home land security and remember any attempt to hide your isp and id only makes them More interested in you. Chong was not arrested by DEA under drug legislation but by the patriot act for selling bongs off the Internet {yes selling drug paraphernalia or drugs is a terrorist act in the US of A. The patriot act gives the government of America the right to listen and record everything you do on line, like i said before the moment you try to hide is the moment they "home land security" starts watching you. The only reason the police aren't using the net to bust people is due to precedent of not allowing evidence to be gathered from electronic means like a phone tap without a warrant. However this precedent has been challenged and overturned in a few states making it likely that in the near future the Internet will be routinely used to start investigations. Yes i know what I'm saying our on line community will become a thing of the past for people living in backward nations. Thankfully I'm Canadian eh. |

THIS IS WHAT THIS THREAD WAS ABOUT
This page demonstrates that any server you visit can find out your real IP address if you enable Java.
![]() If you want some more privacy you have to: 1. Disable Java in your Browser. Then things like this applet will be knocked out. 2. Use firewall and local proxy. This is the most simple way with Java still working. The idea is to restrict direct access to a server. HERES THE PROOF IN THIS LINK |
