Koo Koo for Coco Pot

Well about a year ago I found Gaius' PP on slabs thread and have been looking into and learning from all you fine folks like VT and Bonecarver..... long story 90 days ago I moved my moms to coco took some cuts vegged out some ladies and am about to harvest my first 2 coco plants, Killer Apollo and Sensi Star.

This stuff has proven amazing to work with. Here is the setup I am using. So far everything is hand water in 3"x3" and now 10"x10" pots. I have been using the full blown Botanicare line up, veg, bloom cal-mag, liquid K and sweet. The results so far are as good as the new Canna A+B stuff I am trying. I will admit the A+B is easy as shit to mix up.

I am using a 4x4 Hydro hut with a 600W HPS and air cooling the hood and out the exaust vent. The temps are on the cool side right now ~65F day and night and the humidity is 40% so not optimal but things seems well enough.

So here is the lineup in flower and I will post a few pics tomorrow:

ECSD
Sensi Star
Killer Apollo
White Gold

I am vegging out some Metro, LUI, and DreamGod from seeds I cracked for the coming months.

Here is a tease of the Sensi Star from a few days ago at about 40 days, its purpling up nicely from the cool weather. And loosing all its green as I have been flushing for 7 days already.

In the past two weeks I have been transplanting the root bound 3x3 in to the 10x10 pots and watering like every 5 days. It is sweet, where the 3x3 in flower just suck the pot dry every day. It is amazing how far you can push these babies when root bound in coco.

It is going to take me a few runs to determine veg times and sizes per strain in these bigger pots. I have noticed they explode with growth when I put the root bound 3x3 into the big pots as I move them to the HPS and add a touch of rhizotonic.

I love how easy Coco is to work with, I have had a few bad hydro runs and this is smooth sailing. I haven't touched my EC/Ph meters in over a month. I have the PBP line dialed in at 15ml of each PBP, LK, CalMag per gallon. At 4-5 weeks I remove the PBP and use Budswell instead. Then flush with clearex and Sweet for 2 weeks. I just flood the hell out of each pot until I get a good bit of run off.

The sweet makes them so much stickier and sweeter smelling, and the dose of budswell imparts this dank earthy tone to every plant it touched. I really like this combo, I am going to see how it goes with canna.

Yea and it's harder to be stealthy with a full blown hydro setup....not to mention if you have to tear down and hide plants...that can be catastrophic for DWC plants anyways...I swithced to coco for a few different reasons...mainly the teardown and mobility factors.

I have recently been growing without the full Botanicare additive line and I have had various problems trying different recipes. My conclusion is that the PBP stuff works best with low TDS (soft) water...anyways of all the additives I have been out of....the one that has been most indispensable is LK....in fact I am still bereft of LK and my plants do not look as good as my previous PBP/LK runs....no doubt in my mind I needs to gets me some Liquid Karma

I'm not trying to win the 420 cup.... I am very happy with the results I've been getting....compared to the failures and problems I had in DWC.....I still look at my old Trainwreck DWC pics compared to coco....doesn't even look like the same plant....LOL

My chiller is gonna be lonely this summer..........

Well we are right about 60 days and seeing as the test samples are smoking perfectly, I decided to harvest the KA and SS test grows. I started both of these as small plants so I was never expecting high yield. I was just using this to learn coco and dial in the nutes.

Here is the Sensi Star all purple and glistening in trichomes.

Here is the Killer Apollo

and here is the closet with much larger specimens in much larger coco pots. I cant wait for the small pots to finish, they require way to much feeding. These big honker only really need a 3/4 gallon a week.

Here is the shot of ECSD @ 30 Days. Anyone know how long she goes for, it's the abusive cut?

Hey Purce,

i'm honored that my coco threads, among others, got you into the coco thing. like VT said it has so many advantages, i mean what other hydro setup will last 5 days without water without the plants takig damadge? specially with my way of watering 4 times a day till run off, it takes ages for all that water to disapear, lol.

congrats on the harvest

So today I hit my ICE, ECSD and White Gold with Budswell, and PK13/14 for the first time. All are 21 days or more into bloom and have nice buds forming. A few hours later I noticed that my ICE gal had her fan leaves straight up at the light, like they were hugging the buds.

Thanks to Gaius, VT, and Mtn. John for stopping bye. It helps to know you are not writing to yourself :-) Well this is my third grow, and an attempt at perpetually pulling plants. I am adding one every 7-10 days and hope to be able to pull a little variety every few weeks as things get rolling.

It is amazing how much you learn through trial and error. I have been at this for 3 grows and a whole year, and I just feel like I am getting my feet planted in this craft.

Cheers to all and safe cultivations.
