The Who touring again

Just heard on the radio that The Who is touring again. I never got to see them back in the day and was toying with the idea of going.

Just curious if any of you old farts get out to see some of the older bands that are touring?

I've passed on the Stones several times but did go see Dylan at a smaller outdoor venue last summer and had a great time. Something about packing myself into a huge arena with several thousand screaming maniacs just doesnt do it for me anymore. That and the fact that its smoke free and even lighting a lighter for an encore will get you cuffed and dragged out of the place.

I've heard the ads too. Though I sure dig the old classic rock bands' music, and have mad for their place in musical history, I'm not too interested in seeing them in concert these days. But that's just me.
Some of these old rockers do real well, but some of them should have hung up the mic a long time ago. I saw the Stones, the Who, Queen, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, the Dead, Deep Purple back in the early 80s to the mid-90s. Some of them were kinda pushin it back then. Most of these were good shows, but after you replace so many of the original members, it kind of loses it's appeal to me personally.

My dear wife Mrs Cook was lucky enough to see the Who when Keith moon was still alive. When I saw them, Kenny jones was drumming, but at least there was John Entwistle still on bass. Now, it's pretty much the Roger and Pete show....and Roger's voice has been kinda choppy in recent years.
I wish the best for these old rock heroes from the past. I thank them all for the years of incredible music. And since I've recently become made aware of the costs of longterm healthcare for the retired....I can certainly respect their desire to not stop earning just yet. Again, it's just not for me.
Rock on

I nearly blew Geritol out my nose when I read that!

Good points, I had forgotten that Entwistle passed. Come to think about it Townsend is the only member I give a rats ass about. I always considered Daltry a bit of an ego wanker but he was tolerable within the group.

The decent tickets are right around $100 US. Geezus that sounds high to me but, not having been to a show in years I don't have anything to compare it to. I think the Dylan tickets were only $35 or $40 and that included Willie as an opener.

I remember the good old days when $5 would get you in, and they didnt search people at the door either.

I'd love to see them, that is if the tickets aren't ass gapingly expensive. Only band I'd pay big bucks for is Pink Floyd.

What was that CD that Pete did a few years back about the old rocker and the fan mail? I had it on cassette for awhile till my player ate it and never replaced it. Really cool concept album that even had some songs from his son included.
