Mike and growers, a question
Mike, i recently read about your genetics and have to say the write up impressed me. anyways being that i have never grown before your genetics seem to be the absolute best bang for the buck cost wise, product wise and idiot proof wise. ive been away from smoking MJ for over 5 years and even when i was smoking i never got ahold of any designer type buds, due to my remote location i just smoked what i could get, some was crap some was damn fine. due to some problems with pain management im seriously looking back to MJ to ease the amount of opiates im taking since mostly they are just getting me stoned enough to sleep at night and doing only so-so for pain.
sooooooooooo...........that being said i am really interested in Hashberry...seems like it will be good for knocking me out and getting muscles to relax. what other of your strains would be the best compliment to hashberry that i could use but remain awake and mostly alert when i dont want to sleep? also think something more sativa based would be good to have as my wife gets horrible migraines and most of what i have read is divided over which is better for migraines, indica or sativa. prolly because not every perscription migraine med works for everyone. since she has never smoked i have nothing to go on to tell what might work for her. i will be growing indoors and need to have compact plants with decent yeilds. some will be fore smoking but also i want to make tinctures #1 so i dont have as much buds laying around incase the worst happens and #2 it stores more or less indefinatly and #3 its less conspicuous than smoking if im traveling. any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated |

No doubt I've been pleased with Mikes Hashberry, and continue to grow it. I also had a run in or two with his strain Sadhu. sadhu gave me some rock hard nuggets.. Anyway Mikes descriptions on the Mandalaseeds.com web site could not be more dead on IMO. A lot of them are based around grower/smoker feedback. I mean his description for Hashberry goes like this..
The classic chill-out weed; an expansive indica stone with a powerful high that sets in with the first lungfull of smoke; the buzz is first light headed and very balanced before switching to a stronger narcotic phase towards the end of your flight. Medical use: Hashberry shows medical potential against anxiety and sleep disorders; it has calming effects for pain relief. And heres mine.... My narcotic phase starts much sooner in the flight hehe Must be that big bong With the first toke you may actually think hashberry is gonna have a little more sativa in the high.. You feel it right away in the head, and behind the eyes.. With the second hit you get something I call "insta squint", and it's then I realized it was much more indica then I had thought for a second there after the first toke, and with every toke there after it calms you, relaxes, and takes you away into a blissful stone. The high has real noticable antidepressent, and anti-anxiety properties. Although it can be rather narcotic if overdone I find it still works for a day opener as it puts you in a good state of mind.. Hashberry has made the sun shine on many rainy days for me... The exhale is hashy goodness.. But with a Hashberry you do need a good sativa, and I've yet to try any myself, satori always looked good... And the new released Mandala #1 also looks good, and I may have to try it.. There are both sativa, and indica phenos with the #1, but the effects of the high in the description says sativa Good luck with whatever you try. |

High Badlands,
Welcome to our support board and thanks for taking the time to describe your requirements in such detail. I'm very cautious when it comes to recommending a strain for pain relief. This is because there are so many different medical causes for pain and individual reactions to a strain - even to particular plants or phenos within a strain. Migraines can for example be caused by any one of several factors. A common cause for migraines is the dilation of blood vessels in the brain. In this case marijuana is counterproductive because it also has the same effect of dilating blood vessels. Therefore it is important to have a medical diagnosis first on what is causing the migraines to determine if cannabis is a potential treatment. I can't say which one of our strains your wife may benefit from since we don't have sufficient feedback from the med community in this regard. If you are looking for another indica to complement Hashberry I suggest you try Sadhu. I know it has helped some growers with rheumatic-athritic type pain. There has not been that much feedback on muscle relaxing properties so I don't know to what extent it can assist in this direction. I hope this info helps. Mike

yes it does Mike.......
as far as my wifes migraines im just looking for something new to try, she has tried about everything else. figure it cant hurt to try MJ and see if it might offer any relief.....she has tried every migraine specific drug and 2 work so-so, she has tried anti-sezure and blood pressure meds to help prevent but niether worked to any noticible degree. just figured since some have reported migraine relief with MJ that she should try it aswell. mainly now she is using opiates to kill the pain and and anti nausea to take care of the side effects/symptoms of the migraine so she can just sleep them out. if MJ works to any extent i will try and track down a strain specifically recommended for it and go from there for me not looking so much for a pain killer as something to get me good and relaxed for sleep......i have joint pain but its not arthritis just a bad throw of the dice as far as my genes go. after reading about your plants and their nuit efficientcy its really gotten me motivated to start a grow........the vast majority of my plant experiance is with exotic plants from nuitrient poor areas and im used to growing plants in media that has been stripped of most typical nuits for plant growth such as nitrogen. i would be at a loss on how to grow some of the strains that require heavy feeding as im used to judging plant problems due to to much nuitrients..........earthworms taking up residence in some of my pots of plants cause tremendus headaches for me as they enrich the soil to much.........that should give yah an idea with what im used to dealing with  |
