Speed Queen

Hello all

I started to germinate a pack of Speed Queen on 1/16 all of them popped by 1/18. Very robust taproots.
I put them right into soiless mix (promix w/perlite) in 4" containers. Then they were placed under a 250MH conversion, because the florescent box was out of commission for about a month and a half.

1/20 All of them had broken soil. all of them looked great.

1/23 One of them died. it was the weakest one.
On the plus side, I finally got a digital camera.

1/26 Put all of the seedlings into the seedling/clone/mother cabinet, since I finally got around to finishing it enough to use (it is not quite sealed yet).

I have 6 Critical Mass seeds that are also in 4" pots that were started about a week prior to the SQ's, and 2 Sweettooth #3 seedlings that I started with the SQ's.

pics to follow..........

and pics........

First the Speed Queens
(if you look close, the front row, 2nd from right, is a twin)

And the Critical Mass and SWT#3 (two on the right)

They are in a 59"x29"x15" cabinet with a shelf just over half way up. So there is a top and bottom section. the top is lit with 4 15w tubes and one 20w florescent bulb. the bottom is lit with 3 18w tubes and 2 26w bulbs.

Forgive the pics. I am still learning the camera.

Going to repot them all tonight if I can find the time......

Thanks for choosing one of our strains!
Is this your first grow?
Can you give me some more infos on what your are feeding them with (nutes, EC)?
What's the pH of your feed?
It's a bit difficult to tell from these pics but they seem to be yellowing and have some brown tips. I'd like to give you a hand in finding out the cause so that they can perk up.
When can you put them under the 250W lamp?

thank you all for stopping by

I have been a little under the weather the past few days, then I had to go for an MRI yesterday.......what fun.

Mike- thank you for creating such wonderful strains, I am a customer for life!

This is not my first grow, just my first with this setup/strains.

I feed with Earth Juice grow, ej bloom, ej catalyst, ej microblast, moorbloom, maxicrop, bird and bat guano.

I bubble the mix in a 5 gallon bucket for at least 12hrs. Then I adjust the PH to the low end of 6 (I have one of those cheap dropper ph testers) and feed.

I use vinegar for ph down, but have not found a ph up (what is an organic ph up??). although I have not needed it yet.

No idea what the EC is......

The plants pictured had not been fed yet. They just dried out from being repotted on 2/7, and looking better. They were fed for the first time yesterday (2/13). They were fed with: ej grow, bloom, micro and maxicrop. made the mix full strength for 2 gallons and added it to 4. so it was about 1/2 strength.

I am hoping to get them back under the 250MH within the next few days. just need to get the new fan hooked up in the veg cabinet (it was way to hot in there!).

I'll post pics tonight if I can find the time.

see you all later

Hello all

It has been a crazy few weeks......... but things may have calmed down.... I hope.

I have been keeping the plants happy. I finally got the veg cab set up and got them all under a 250MH on 3/4. 9 Speed Queens, 4 Critical Mass and 2 Blue Thunder cuttings.

There was not nearly enough light in the top of the box I had them in. As a result they were basically in "stasis". They did come back with a vengence and now I can see a day-to-day difference.

So here they are:

And here is the largest of the SQ

and The 4Critical Mass and the 2 SWT#3 (SWT#3 are in the right front)

I did not have enough room so the Swt#3 stayed in stasis and did not get repotted until 3/11. so they are a little behind but lookin good. They seem to love what I am feeding them.

None of the Speed Queens have shown sex. The largest CM is looking female, and one of the swt is lookin like a male.

So I am going to repot the larger ones(as many as I have room for), and put the others right into flower.
I can probably only put like 6-8 in to flower right now. I am trying to get a perpetual harvest going. I have 2 Blue Thunder revegged (1LST 1 SCROG), 2 BT cuttings (LST), 2 G13xBlueberry sativa. I also just got a male Kalichakra from my sister station.

I have a few ideas, but what do you think would make a good cross?

that is all for now

SO, it has been awhile......... I flowered 3 of the SQ early in 6" pots (short veg) so I did not get much yeild, but the smoke was sooooooo good (citrusy, with just a little pinch). I want more!
The other 5 (the strongest plants) were all male. not a complaint, just a fact.

Here are a couple of pics of the one SQ I still have in flower (started flowering on 6/22). These pics were taken on 7/17, (sorry for the light).

and the beautiful top........

fed with teas in a 5gal of organic soil. it is currently being flushed and should be coming down within the week. I will try and get another pic before then.

I am definately going to be getting more of these seeds with my next order!
