Blue Meanie

This is one good reason why I never get upset that cult cuts like the Kush family and Sour Diesel aren't around in England much - we have our own devastating strains here.

I often mention my 'Mystery Strain'...so-called as no-one knows for sure exactly what it is, but it's old-school funk. It has a local nickname, but I'll refrain from using that for fear of upsetting folks - and starting a SoCal-style bunfight over here! Anyway, this is 'Blue Meanie' - a cross of the Mystery Strain with Blueberry. I have no details on parentage, but it's very likely that Blueberry was the male, as the MS is a clone-only strain (not for long - watch this space!).

This smells similar to the MS, but with an extra sickly-sweet component - this is totally dank, totally fine weed. It has a very balanced 50/50 high, pulsatingly strong, with a long duration. The Blueberry seems mostly to add to the flavour, as the high is similar to the original, but this is top-notch, and as good as anything I've ever smoked in the US. The nugs are rock-hard and encrusted in resin, and the smell is gorgeous. Each of these weighs around 4-5 g.

That's just the hippies that grow it - they're often lazy when it comes to trimming! I gave it the once-over with the clippers again after the pics. I found a hippy hair in there too...:(

I got some Blueberry yesterday, so I was just able to to do a comparison before I ran out of the Blue Meanie - the Blue Meanie is a tad stronger, but that's not surprising if the Mystery Strain is the mother, as it pretty much overwhelms most strains I've smoked. But the Blueberry has more blue flavour - I guess it would. They look very similar though - the Blueberry also has dense nugs, but not as dense as the BM. Both top-notch though, and still as good as anything from abroad. We got some good growers here now...

Oh, and that reminds me - I still have a syringe-full of Wavy-Cap mycelium in the fridge from a while back- I think I'm going to rustle up some wood-chips and dump that lot in the garden this spring....
