I've been toying with the idea of growing for a little over a year now. It has become more of a reality now. I finally got some money and plan on going ahead with the grow. However, there is something holding me up.

I have a friend, I've known him for about 6 years, which, at my age is a long time. He currently grows in his apartment. His grow op is small, some shop lights and one plant flowering at a time. However, I've told him that I plan on growing and he says he wants to help me out and throw down half of the startup costs for my grow. My grow will be significantly better then his, as I plan on going organic with a 400w hps inside of a Mill's Pride Cabinet.

Thing is, I'm not sure if I should go ahead with this. I think he has the idea that since he's throwing down half, he will get half the harvest, every harvest. Which is not cool. He's only going to be throwing down around $250.00 which is a significant amount of money, but.. I guess in his eyes it's a good investment. 50% of a harvest every 2 months.

What do you guys think? I guess I should talk to him about it but I don't want to be an ass and say 'you're not getting half my harvest every harvest'.

On the flip side, this guy is generous. He comes over almost every night and smokes me out since my money situation is kind of low. No spare money to throw at bud. So he helps me out there, without even thinking about it. So I'm not sure what his angle is. Your thoughts?

Wrong, wrong, wrong!

NEVER tell ANYONE your growing.

Not your own mother.

If you can't follow that rule, don't grow.

Grow partners are a total disaster.

Never grow with a partner.

Your chances of getting busted double, and the police will add on a conspiracy charge when you are caught.

All it takes is for your friend to get drunk and run his mouth to impress some girl etc.

If you can't keep the secret, how can you expect your friend to keep it?

Also, he will want half, and since you are growing it at your residence and taking all the risk, that is a BAD DEAL.

Also, fuck that 400W bulb.

Get a few 1000W bulbs, and grow giant fucking trees.

You can have less than ten plants, and get multiple pounds every harvest, and not face much jail time if caught.

400W is a waste of time.

You will get in just as much trouble for a few small plants under a 400W, as you will for a few huge plants under 3,000W.

If this guy all ready knows the address your growing at, DON'T GROW, until you find a new address and when you do, DON'T TELL ANYONE.

I guess I let it slip since I knew he grew. I'll just let him know I don't plan on growing, since I've already kind of started hinting it to him, since I knew it was a little shady.

You made the right decision, but I have to ask, does he know your address?

Even if you tell him you aren't growing, just him knowing your address, and knowing you considered growing is shady.

He could figure you are lying, and still give your name to the police if anything happens.

Believe me, people you think are your friends, they will go through their entire phone book dropping dimes on their buddies when they are looking at jail time.

A friend of a friend of a friend is related to a local narcotics detective.

He always tells me how people BEG to snitch out their friends after they are in the township holding cell for less than 1 hour.

Fucking bikers, tough guys, you name it, they all snitch.

Yes, as I said he comes over daily to have a smoke while we watch some TV and chill. I don't have much of a concern though, to be honest. But hey, maybe I'm just dumb

Well you might never have a problem.

Then again your friend might get busted in a few months and give you up.

Me personally, I won't grow at an address that ANYONE knows about period.

I couldn't sleep at night.

At the very least, keep your plant numbers low, and don't have any baggies, scales, cash, fancy toys around the house.

I say you both do exact set-ups at each of your places.

You can each try different stains and share the cuts.

Plus the risk is equal.

If your partnership goes bad, the most he'll lose is $250. What will you lose?

The most fancy thing my apartment has is a rear projection TV from 1990, lol. As for scales, baggies, cash.. Never have any of these on me. I only plan on having 6-10 plants at a time. 3 moms, 3 flower, and the rest in the clone chamber vegging. I'm going to check NORML now to get some facts about the laws again.

You can plead your charge down to possession if you have less than 10 plants 99% of the time, you won't do any time, probably some probation though.

My advice it get the most out of those 10 plants.

Grow trees.

I am harvesting around 5 pounds every 3 months or so with 6 plants right now.

Partners = disaster. I have a friend I known for 15+years. He had nothing, so I decided to help him out and made him my partner so that he can have some income and smokes. After I taught him how to grow, and made him tons of money, he decided that he did'nt need me anymore, and tried to kick me out of my own system. Greed almoust always takes over when it comes to illegal business. Best not have partners, unless you want to lose a friend at it too. Peace and stay safe.
