Hello. I have never grown known genetics before, only things I have randomly acquired. As such, when one of your strains states, say, 55 days flowering time, I am not certain whether this means from the point I switch my lights to 12/12 or at some other point. I've got some of your speed queen, they're looking good.

Well, im no expert but I was under the impression it takes a couple days for the plant to realize it's flowering. So it might not start flowering the first 12/12 day, it might take 2-3 days. But I could be wrong. But even so, I would allow for 60 days if your strain says 55, just to be safe

Different pheno's can take a little longer some a little slower, it's best to use a 30x jewlers loupe or a microscope to tell the trichome colouration close to the end of flowering time, I prefer a heavy strong stone so I like to wait till the trichomes are mostly purple

This can vary from breeder to breeder.
In our case we count from the day when you switch to 12/12 since plants react individually on when the actual first signs of sex appear. It's much easier for the grower to remember one date than hunt around for tags and write down each day when the first pistils grow. ;-) I'm addicted to easy gardening...LOL In our online FAQ we have additional tipps on when to harvest.
