Does anybody know to what extent the cops do grow store surveillence? I've heard of people being followed home. Also, I've heard of people having there identities traced via their lincense plate number. But is there any other way that you've heard of that cops use to investigate grow shop customers?

Depends on where you live and how serious they take the law.
here they don't bother.

Hi Sin,

You obviously have an opinion on the matter, why not share it? What have you heard of? What other tactics do they use to invade privacy other than following people home or tracing peoples' lincense plate numbers?

i've always been paronoid bout it, ive been to the shop and parked quarter mile away and walked with my hhod over my face. i've been told that sort of observation is no where near enough to get u busted, theres got to be much mor to it, however it is disturbing to think it cud b don as part of collecting enough to kick yr door in! i am careful most times, i go in someone elses car and never go straight home.

they cant possibly watch all shops all the time.

well I'm certain that I had my license plate number recorder by an undercover officer last time I went to the grow shop. I parked a couple blocks away, but when I was leaving I noticed a Caprice or Crown Vic painted an ugly blue color with a single cop-style spot light on the passenger side. He was on my ass for about 30 seconds then he turned away.

The car is registered to a family member that lives on the opposite side of the country, and I live over an hour way from the shop. Plus, I didn't go directly home.

I'm loosing sleep over this shit. I would really appreciate every one's thoughts on the matter.

Chill out stoney, i know wat yr going thro, wen i'm in the loft and the wirly bird is overhead for 30 mins at a time, i spend the next couple of days on pins waiting for the door to b kicked in.

just b rally careful if they had anything on u yr door wud already b in bits, so its not as bad as u think. just be careful man!

I have a good friend who was busted this way...
the police used a federal grant to stop marijuana production, by maintaining survellence on a popular grow shop in Spokane Wa... there were 4 or 5 LEO working together, all in vehicles, taking turns following people that had left the shop, they would follow to property, obtain power records for the property then they tried a ruse at the property, (looking for a lost dog) which they claimed they "smelled" growing MJ got the warrant.....

During discovery, we found out this has been going on for several yrs... not constantly but whenever grant moneies were available they would employ this tactic.. according to the search warrant affidavit and the police officers testimony at suprrestion... they have busted dozen of people in that area this way, and recovered thousands of pot plants...

im uk and things r bit dif, i not sure if its better or worse, end of the day we all grow a weed that grow wild anyway, we just got to keep battling. i pray for all growers to hav best luck they can.

Hey Stoney

I just think where i live they don't much care... if they catch you red handed so to speak they have to do thier jobs.

I've had Cops and Dogs Hit on my house and they don't care.. just move on to do what ever it was they where in the neighbor hood for. Normally some guy running away from them.

Courts don't throw the book at you.. it's bad enough don't get me wrong.. but what some people go threw, this state is rather light handed.

Cops here will not waste the time to Spy and track Lic. # and try to get a warrent based on that... They have real crime out there. METH, is what they want!

I been pulled over more than once with my Stash either given back to me, or throwen on the ground infront of me.. they even gave my Dugout back cause that wasn't illegal. Cop said you got some resin in there to get you by till tomarrow!

Most of them just don't care.. now drive drunk.. it's lock up time!
