Coco outdoors...
Hey there,
I plan on using coco bricks for a guerrila grow and i have some boxes of coco with veg in them outside... My question is will a good rain wash away the nutrients and should i lay plastic down first to prevent this? Cheers.

yeah the rain will flush the nutrients out, but you have to have some drain holes so it can't be helped unless you cover the coco with plastic, so the rain does not get directly at it? remember a bit of flushing every now and again is actually a great bonus. if it gets too rainy your plants will need a roof anyway else you'll end up with lots of bud rot. but like i say if you feel they are getting drowned, or starved, then cover the coco with some plastic sheeting hidden under a layer of what ever is covering the ground.
i would have to say, that pure coco needs a lot of maintenance in terms of feeding regularly. and a gorilla grow is supposed to be pretty self sufficient. so the two might not be ideal combined. unless you use the coco as an additive to a rich earth mix. well that's a stoned ramble of a post, lol. hope you get the main points i'm trying to make. peaace

Cool man. Dont want to cover it because it might not rain that often... bit of a drought here but then again it could piss down...
Was just planning on digging a hole and making a bit of a raised bed by mixing the coco with limited earth... maybe i will just use the coco as mulch. Thanx.
