My new MOM cabinet.

Hello all,

I was in need of a small cab for my moms and clones/cuts. I had this old stereo cabinet taking up space in my garage and well.....

Here are a few of the Skippy peanut butter jar carbon filter and fan assembly.

The motor is a Vantec Tornado -110cfm @ 1 amp and is hooked up to a varable power supply giving me 5 speed settings.

I am using CFL's for ease of use and variable wattages.

Anyway, the cabinet is running and just doing some testing.

Any the moment I have roughly 62 watts/ sqft and since I am looking to keep growth to a minimal I think I am going to turn down the light power to something like 40 watt / sqft. for veg.

Enjoy all

If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures.

Hello all,

The reflectors are tin cans with a layer of aluminum duct tape on the underside.

They work well and are very sturdy after applying the tape and epoxyed to the frame.

I am still testing the system and so far no heat issues. Proper interior ventilation is critical to mix the warm air with the cold for effective heat disposal and environmental control.

Hello all,

Firstly, I must apologize to not having any pics of the filter construction. I became a victum of my own procrastination...I will take a pic after this bong hit and I get such and such finished first....

Doh!

Anyway, its realy just a basic drum type filter.

I cut evenly spaced slates along the outside of the plastic jar. I tehn cut a strip of approx 3 inch wide by 16" l;ong 1/8" light hardware clothe and lined it on the inside of the jar and epoxy'ed in place. I also cut a piece of window screen the same size and placed that inside on top of the 1/8" HC. Since the plastic jar has slates cut- this allows airflow while maintaining the shape and intrigraty. When the HC and screen are in place and expoxy'ed to the inside of the jar it is strong.

Next I made the inner sleeve out of HC, screen, some nylon ties, aluminum tape and a round disk from the back of the cabinet wall where it is mounted. The sleeve height was about 3 inches wide and is just short enough to allow filling of the carbon. I put panty hose over the inner sleeve and over the outer sleeve and viola. I epoxy'ed the innere sleeve to the floor of the jar- it works perfect.

Once full of carbon, I used alum. tape to seal off the space between the inner sleeve and the outter sleeve so there are no air leaks.

I made the flange for the motor (did I mention it howles 52dB) using a piece of soft pine epoxy and the lid of the jar. Just twist it on or off and is designed to be refilled and used over and voer again. Take note however that food grade plastic gets brittle over time and heat. But it will last a few years I am sure.

I used the PJ har becuase of the twist on lid and it was just the right size. I works supurbly and is perfect fit for a PC grow too. I am sure someone there has already done this.

Hope this helps.

Again, I wish I had taken more pics. Sorry my ganja growing bretheren.

PS: I also need to move the power strip - bad choice of location
