Tips on growing Deep Chunk?

First I just want to say thanks to OGbub And Tom Hill for there wonderful work! What a cool strain... I was wondering if there are any tips on growing Deep Chunk. It can be a tricky plant to grow the first time. Also is DC known for not cloning very well? thanks, peace

You can do a search in the Test Grows Area, there a few people who did The Teast Grows, me included.

I had a hard time in Veg with DC, it grows quick, root bound problems... also mabe needed more Cal/Mag in Veg.

It seemed to take care of it's self once in flower.
In flower I had NO Troubles.

I want another shot at DC. I didn't do so well. Thats not the plants fault but my own.

Good Luck it's a great plant in all recpects.

I think that it clones pretty easy. It is a slow vegger with lots of large fan leaves. I don't think that it is a big feeder. It does get root bound pretty quick and responds decently if you fuck it up.

yeah she likes lots of root space, veg is slow, flowers appear done early, but should still be taken a full 60 days or longer imo.

DC is a powder mildew magnet, if there is powder mildew to be found , deep chunk will find it.

i do think that DC is tough to clone, i've had some problems with her. i guess it depends on your method , maybe she just doesnt like areo cloning? i dont know... maybe i fucked up i dont know....

top her when she is short to promote multiple main cola style growth, the more tops the better the yield, DC doesnt make very big buds , the best way i've heard this kind of growth described is "backwards" .... so veg her big because she will not stretch hardly at all, the buds will fill out the framework so to speak......where with a more sativery style plant you would veg moderately and let the stretch create the rest of the framework for the buds to grow into...

so anyway , hope that helps... i'm sure there are others around that will chime in that have more experience with deepchunk than i do tho.

In Veg it is a Big eater but I think of Cal and Mag.
Yes it responds well if screwed up... I should know :
In Flower I had to do almost NOTHING to it... Just in veg.

Very good post brother. All of it true for me.. as you know.
I could not get it to root for love or money... took me over 4 weeks screwin around before it rooted.

Your was the BOMB! Yummy! Mine was just Ok... you did better then me.
Was it MadDog who did the Best test grow on DC, not sure now..

Anyway I like DC alot, even with the small but tight as hell nuggs. Frost from stem to leaf tip. Yeah I want another shot at DC some day.

yeah it's some good smoke for sure....

i do think she was very nitrogen hungry even into early mid flower if i remember correctly , has been a while.... she'll yellow up good on you and slow down if you don't tend her needs.

I think that once it gets developed it does grow faster even in veg. I have cloned it in peat pelets and it grows roots in about 2-3 weeks with 100% success rate. Not as fast as others, but not reallye dificult, you just have to wait.

Ya haha, I fucked mine up a time or two aswell. Does very nice outdoor no mold with a fairly wet season, but inside it seemed a lot more suceptable to mold, any body else experience this?

2 to 3 weeks seems right to me.
I screwed up a few times on the rooting do it took longer, others didn't have the same trouble I did.. so yeah think your 100% on that.

I never grew it Outdoors but saw Tom Hills OG OD grow WOW! Momma!

I don't think I had mold troubles with it. By the by just for the record, the troubles i had with DC where MY Fault!

DC is definitely a nice plant to grow. Not to many pure indicas like this out there available to many people. I just looked at mine and holy fuck I have one female that is just incredible. Fucking huge. The fan leaves are monstrous. I think the fan leaves at the top have grown by 25% in one day. It is a beatiful plant, shine leaves and purple stems, I fucking love it. Can't wait for more fresh deep chunk. One note, if you drink, do not smoke it after more than a six pack, it might make you feel like shit PTK seems to have that effect also.

Peace

That was an outdoor of the DC.
