Agents bust pot activist, seize 20,000 plants A nationally known medical marijuana grower was taken into custody and some 20,000 marijuana plants were seized in a Lake County raid on Wednesday, according to authorities. At least five people were arrested, a federal Drug Enforcement Administration spokesman said, including Eddy Lepp, whose outspoken medical marijuana activism has been chronicled in High Times and other magazines. The plants, many of them knee-high, were easily visible along Highway 20 near Upper Lake. Charles "Eddy" Lepp, 52, who operates the Medicinal Gardens and Multi-Dimension Chapel of Cannabis and Rastafari, has had numerous pot-related run-ins with the law before. Richard Meyer, a DEA spokesman in San Francisco, estimated the street value of the seized plants at roughly $80 million. Isn't this the second time in the past few years or so that the DEA has destroyed the crop. Jason King mentions another raid on Lepp in the latest Cannabible.
Hopefully for Eddy and the others arrested all they wanted to do was destroy the crop. Our great leaders at work ... ha!!
