Looking for old OG thread of a Growers tale - Old Stoners Crash Pad - International Cannagraphic Magazine Forums

Does anybody recall an old OG thread from this 60s/70s grower telling stories of a massive outdoor grow-op where in new mex or arizona or something. He had pictures of the op and claimed he was writing a book. I thought it was hella interesting. I haven't read it in over 2 years but I remember something about living in a school bus. They were brought to the site and left there for 6 months or something at a time, he was a gardener working the grow-op.
I enjoy reads like that. The arrest portion was just a good reading, I thought it would make a pretty good movie.

Anyhow, I hope someone remembers it or similar threads and someone has saved them.

We started out with over 8000 plants - a strain selectively crossed 9 generations to create a superior plant we called "9th Generation Purple Carlotta". At the time we feel this was the strongest most potent hybrid ever grown in the US.
With 2 years in planning we started the actual grow in Feb. of 1980. Unfortunantly 7 months later we were busted. At the time this was a record bust for New Mexico - total seized was 3500 female plants weighing in at over 7,000 lbs. Standing from 10ft to 16 feet tall average height of the plants were 12 feet. Authorities had to use a local copper mine smelter to destory it all - doing so "put the fire out" - took them 2 days to relite the smelter. Man - I would have loved being downwind of that burn. Even though we did get busted only 2 weeks from harvest, we did manage to get most males out which paid for all operational costs.
After 24 years of silence I felt the erge to finally share this story.

I remember that thread from O.G. What a good read that was. I wish I knew where he was and the other 150 pages to the story. lol

one of the guys they grew with was a cop or something, thats how they got busted. Seems to me that picture with the guy in it was the cop. I could be wrong on that though the details are kinda sketchy in my head. It was a really interesting story too, too bad I never saw what happened with OG happening or I woulda saved the whole thing.

I miss the old OG stories. my adventures should be hitting sheleves in 5 years?lol...2 of us and 5 clones,1 dog and 5,000 miles later, alaska. 6 weeks on the road and the clones where 2weeks when we set out? It was a test of our wits and nerve, but we made it despite ourselves. When we flew off that island 2 years later. I shed a tear for my old friend. 8 years I grew that strain from clone to clone. dang laws.

This was my grow back on 1980. Shame OG went down - seemed that thread was going on forever. And I believe I have saved about 75% of the original OG thread - but it's on a corrupted HD I need to recover the data off of. At least I still have the photo album and the stories. :-)
