to be honest i was hoping for 50/50 with sex. I was banking on clearing out 8-10 of em for more room and i wanted a male to make beans with. But looks like i got 19 New girls that are begging for my love and attention. At least i got quite a selection in girls to look for the winner out of em

told ya. Its very odd. Like i said i got one male and it really aint showing its balls. i call it a male cuz it aint showing really yet but i got a sneaking suspicion it may be a girl also. The one in quesion is the smallest one i got and didnt get to much attention so its hard to tell with it.

Im tellin you, you have me scratchin my head on these. I aint mad at all, trust me. But the high % of females is odd, espicially since you are having same results

Dj Short´s theory of using a slightly hermie male to increase the female/male ratio is def not the answer to this , as im sure that the males were just males ... i observed them over 12 weeks veg indoor and 8 weeks flowering outdoor last year


Is it possible that both parents got a dominant trait of producing a high F/M ratio , overcrossing happenend ???

I have never heard of a line having a naturally higher fmale ratio. But then again i am not expert in breeding. all i know is i pop beans every year and this is the first time i have ever seen a ratio this high. Im basically at 95% female. I gotta tell Sun to pop those beans and see what he gets out of em. Those packs had alot of beans in em. So one of two things will happen. Either he will get all the males and mother nature is just normal and i got lucky. Or if he gets all females as well, then we got something to figure out.

Either way , we need more people to pop some beans to see if we just got lucky or if there is more to it. But if you say the male had no hermie tendancies im leaning on just us being some lucky mofo's. I dont see any weird traits showing up in them so far. I know that the majority of my skuunky balls leans to skunk side, not the DC side. maybe 2 of em. Either way this has me scratching my head

As i now the gender isnt really set in the seed , it comes down to the environment in which the beans are grown ...

Well if thats the case, then you were saying that you wanted to use HPS in hopes of getting more males. Just a heads up, i vegged em under HPS the whole time so i dont think HPS has any effect on increasing males. If thats the case I would have had all males since you were sayin HPS helps get more males. But my HPS gave me all females. I think mother nature is mother nature. But thats just my opinion.

Its very easy to determine the phenotype of the plants w/o smelling on them ... , i have observed that the Skunk phenotypes show the same branching pattern as my Skunk , after 2 nodes are established on a branch the angular growth starts like mad ... , which makes the plant look like growing sideways after reaching its height ... and by no means is this is a tall plant ...
