VERY informative articles - I would of never guessed. I would laugh so hard if they tried to sell me something like this... another reason to grow it yourself.

The habitual ripping off of the tourist by "legitimate" Coffeehouses... why if the word got out about that, it could be very bad for business.
I see The Greenhouse Coffeeshop(s) get mentioned as one of the more ethical coffeeshops in the Dutch market.

Wherever "Coffeeshops" pop up in the world, I'd imagine these unethical practice's will follow, thieves are thieves, nature of the beast and all that, some people just find it disagreeable to be honest... certainly not as profitable.

Perhaps we should develop our own (non-flaming) top ten list of reputable Coffeehouse establishments that could be recommended to fellow ICforum members if they were to find themselves vacationing in the Netherlands...as it is, I can get screwed locally on a pot deal if I wanted, I don't need to travel internationally to have that opportunity.

I believe that shaking is quite common especially in the tourist coffee shops near to CS – you can’t blame them ‘Mop and Bucket duty’ is one of the worst aspects of working in a coffee shop and they get a lot of tourists who are not use to strong weed

I was walking into the Greenhouse Centrum last summer and they were carrying a tourist out – he was spark out unconscious – so I said to one of the coffee girls that it was a good advert for the shop and she said he was the second that day!! – that’s what happens when you have a shop near Central Station and don’t shake

As to the top 10 - this can change - best to go to Seeds Direct and get the latest inside info when you arrive in Amsterdam

I agree a top ten list for cofee-shops should be established, a non rip-off smoke guide.
By the way, I am planing to go to Maastricht and I am interested in good addresses.

Except - I was there a couple of weeks ago - and Space Cake is very definately back on the menu - even at Dampkring for the first time I can remember !

but if you smoke as much as I do Space Cakes is just food - you are better off buying some nice food and some good hash and mixing it yourself

Thank you very helpful im planning on going just dont know when id like to get some more cash together first. Had a friend who went and had a couple bad experiences with locals(bums) ,bad cafes mainly bait and switch got really ill still to this day have no idea what caused not to be gross but were talking about dyarea so bad he almost died of dehydration. So now he goes around negatively promoting amsterdam but after reading a couple of the guides in here and showing him how cool gn was and everbody ive convinced him to go again we just have to set a date thank you
i do know how to spell dyarea it just makes me sick to actually soell it there a disgustingness to the word and for the goofiest reason i feel more comfortable mis spelling it
