OK to update most of my monster clones hermied so I tossed them out. I have one in flower right now but it didn't really branch like it could have. Also still have two of them in veg and clones from some of those waiting for roots.

is two weeks into flowering too late to clone a plant?? I have one in flowering that has a shitload of lower shoots that will probably just waste energy in the long run...any ideas?

No, its not too late. They may take a little longer to root, but you can still do it.

Super thread. Got my first grow of bagseed going and thought I'd try cloning some of them while I got my confidence up. Sounds like a pretty foolproof method. Can't wait. Just trying to be patient and not rush things.

If patience is a virtue, then I'm a slut. :-)

This time it took me a night and a morning but I reread this thread.

As it would be.. I know the soil and can grow nice plants like many of us can but it's these humble tasks, such as cloning, that can be worrisome.

Nice to refresh the thought processes on cloning once again..

This time out I have large soil blocks. It's my thing.

What time of day do you prefer to take your clones? Ive heard that taking them later in the day might be better?

I've cloned 23 in the last couple of months with 100% success rate. No lamps, just sitting in a heated propagator on a window shelf and the last batch I took was from a mother that hadn't been under a lamp in about 4 months.

My method is

1. Take cutting and immediately put into a glass of water for 20 secs to stop any air bubbles.

2. Remove cutting and scarify the lower 1/2" with a Stanley knife blade- the roots will then shoot out of the sides of the stem too.

3. Dip in Clonex for about 1 - 2 mins.

4. Place in rockwool cube then in heated propagator.

It takes about 15-17 days to root them fully, although the roots start to show at the top of the scarification after about 7 days.

This is definetly cloning made easy. So far I'm 26 for 26.

I just took the cuttings, soaked in water for a few minutes. Dipped the ends in rooting hormone and stuck them in plastic cups with slightly moist MG soil. Put all of them in a rubbermaid storage tub with a 23 watt CFL outside of the tub. Misted the sides of the tub twice daily and the clones when they looked unhappy. Had roots showing as fast as 7 days or as long as 12 days. Seems like as soon as roots show, they really take off.

quick question. I dont't have a mother plant, and have been cloning my plants in veg, then as soon as the clones are good to go the plants go into 12/12. since i keep cloning from clones, how long can i keep doing this until the genetics or potency become weak?
