Coco in treepots?

Hi there

I keep wondering how cannabis would go in these long, tall treepots: https://www.stuewe.com/products/treepots.html

I'm into hand watering coco and am curious about how these pots might effect yield etc.

Any clues?

i like the look of those tree pots, but not really for pure coco coir, if you do a hydroton or lavarock mix with coco those pots would be cool to grow some wicked trees.

if you put pure coco in that hight of container you have the danger of the coco compressing it's self too much.

i have found coco to work well without using all that much medium, but if i wanted to give them as much as possible i would make a bed of coco only about 20 or 25cm deep, coco roots love to have horizontal freedom.

i have seen those type of high pots be used by some very professional earth growers.

I just ran across these the other day at the local big seed/gardening/greenhouse supply shop here and about shit myself.. I can't believe they've been around for at least 3 years and I've missed them.. Many times I've contemplated building my own from scratch because of the high-density SOG potential dafatguy mentioned.. Has anyone in the last 3 years since the last post of this thread used them? Another option I'm considering is using them outdoors on a friend's land, the 2.5 gallon ones that are like 18" tall or so... In his case stealth isnt a concern so I was thinking it would be a GREAT way to keep away pretty much all rodents/shorter animals/slugs away except for deer if the stem isnt starting until 18" into the air.. I'm almost positive I'm going to do that this year at least on a test-scale so if anyone is interested I'll report back later in the summer.. I won't be using Coir however so I'll probably start a new thread regarding this in the outdoor forum..
I'd still love to hear from anyone that's used them in any medium, however.

Peace

BB

check out the catalog

for a coco SoG, I think I'm liking the 4" wide x 9.5" tall x .44 gallon volume

or maybe one step up to the 4" x 12" x .6 gallon

If that were the case then a standard 10 inch or 12 inch pot would also lead to problems with coco compressing itself...tree pots are what?? 15 inches?? 3 to 5 inches won't make a difference...and if you add perlite it would be even better....I would say go for it..peace
