The LUI's a ROCKING...
The lui beans I recieved a couple months ago..about 16 in all.We had some duds..4/8..little concerned.I still have 8 unsprouted. But outta the 4,3girls..2 gorgeous and 1 is an absolute Goliath..Icall her Rock-star!! The fan-leaves are F'ing Huge, very tight growth pattern..just a beautiful specimen.I took 3 cuttings off all 3 plants and labeled accordigy.By the looks of things, these cuttings should take hold no problem !! My buddy call's her 1 outta 1 hundred..haha.I actually needed help holding the fan leaves outta the way just to make the cuts !!We're going to hold her back from flowering till the cuttings say 'hello',then off she goes !! I think we're gonna have a full blown Godzilla on our hands...!!!

Out of the 3 girls I mentioned..all beautiful..2 are virtually Identical..smaller and prettier leaves. Then we have the Mack-daddy momma..she is twice as thick in the main stem, stacked nodes,and..to put it mildly..Huge fan leaves. They are roughly twice the width of her sisters.I would venture to say..'What every indoor grower would want to see'!! Now my main goal is to go outdoors with the beans I have left over..my personal situation might be changing though..a possible move may be iminent..So that may not come to fruition..Crossing my fingers!!My buddy has the white-rusky going along with the Lui..I hope the lui knock's the snot outta the WR..jUST MY secret wish..haha !!

not to be a hater i really wanted to grow this strain looks awesome, but bought seeds off seedbay $90, got 16, very stoked, popped all but 4 got nothing. i'll never get a mum if can't get seeds to germinate. tried a couple techniques thought maybe grower error but not on 12 seeds. very disipointed really wanted to grow this strain did a ton of research but didn't see this coming. not trying to bash breeder i know its tough with this demand on such a sought after strain, just thought people should know. good luck on your grow. some pics would be cool.

LUI has never had germination problems...
Your methods could be erroneous? |

I would highly suggest raising your temps with LUI germination to 80-100f cuz it really helps. Also the LUI beans that you purchased could be 1-3 years old so basically they need a little help. I had poor germination with LUI this last batch but I beleive this batch of seeds is around 2 years old if not more. When I say poor that means anything less then 8 out of 10 germination which is normal for some growers. I hope that helps.
These particular beans came from Red as a gift to speed my outdoor push up last year. The cannabis community was the source of my treasures. I owe him some beauty pics of LUI and even though the army got the last LUI I will keep climbing the mountains until I do it. I have always had the nuts to grow it but not to show it Milly BLunt

Back 2 Basics...
Any more, I just do what I was shown back in 79.Soak in water for 8-12 hrs.Paper towel method, wrap in Saran wrap, cover with another saucer..put in a warm place.I've tried many variations on the theme..But why Fix,What Ain't Broken?? I think the only thing I do differently now...Is add a few drops of Maxi-crop to my pre-soak water.

like i said could be grower error, I don't think it was though. Normal routine is rapid rooters (very moist), 80 degree temps, heat mat. Didn't work. Next soaked seeds in ph water for 24 hours place in rapid rooters under same conditions. nothing happened. Next soaked for 12 hours placed in moist paper towel, put in zip lock bag and breathed in it when thought about it probaly once a day. nothing happened. Like stated in earlier post not hear to bash on breeder, plenty of proof on the fine work with strain, and many others. That's why i picked this strain really impressed with other peoples success, beautiful looking plants. But i just recently purchased these seeds, and these threads are about sharing experiences with the community. I thought i would share mine. Before i was getting about 90% on seed germination, and cloning ( different technique). But I am hear deffinatly to learn, so I got 4 seeds left. Any ideas on changing my style are much appreciated. If they are older seeds, i didn't know higher temps helped with germination. Sorry for taking over thread in off topic. Thanks SI

Higher temps has always worked for me when germinating seeds that are older and LUI is a great example. It makes sense though cuz when I get a cold spring my germination rates aren't that great but next year when I get warmer weather the previous seeds from the last year sprout up. They wait a whole year with winter included. Milly BLunt
