Amsterdam obviously is at the top of the list. Anyone with even the least knowledge can go there find a coffeeshop or 2, obtain and enjoy some cannabis etc as well as the wonderful coffeeshop enviornment where anyone can puff in the open without any worries

so that brings me to my next question

where are some other places that make for good smoker friendly vacations
requirements are simple... you have to have BEEN there or know someone who has

how easy is it to get grass and/or hash?
how open is smoking for people in public or in social settings
how good is the quality of smoke
is there maybe a certain time of year or holiday that is best?

I know everyone hates HT, but I went to the cup this year and saw there was a company offering to do medical tours of "oaksterdam"

I was thinking, this could go either way... but seemed like a good idea in a way. I have gone a few times to oakland but it would be nice to go at a time of year when many visitors would be there... if there is something like that

I always liked having many other visitors also enjoying amsterdam the way I do, and I think part of having a good smoker friendly vacation would be having other vacationers to talk with etc

so... I know this was long... but anyone have any ideas or some places that you already go to. Vancouver is a good place, is there maybe a good festival or time to go there? what about australia... i hear they have a cannabis celebration... and I heard somewhere called I think christiana or something also is very smoker friendly... the only place I can say definately is a great smoker getaway is Amsterdam... but you already knew that probably

spain and portugal have basically decriminalised possession ,
i was in spain last year and the first day i got there i found 2 growshops ,both offered me weed , i got some kali mist and it was nice ,i havent tried portugal yet

I know up here in the summer time there are some really good (imo) festivals, Anderson Blue Grass, Talkeetna Blue Grass Festival, i believe Toke has one there too, these festivals arent met for weed but they play really good music and weed/mushrooms everywhere, and people smoke out in the open all the time. not sure if this qualifies for what your talking about but Alaska sure is gorgeuous and if someone was to come up here it wouldnt be a bad idea to come during the festive times.my 2 cents.

Best vacation spot for a smoker is Jamaica, period hands down!! A'dam has herb sure, but you can only buy a certain amount per shop and smoke there or your room. The weed is over priced and most complain about the quality of coffeeshop herb in Adam. The weather sucks and you can only go look at art and tulips for so long and coffeeshops get boring.

Jamaica the herb is cheap, organically grown and superb if you dont get it from the airport. You can smoke in a cab, on the beach , in a resturant, in your room, at the pool or walking down the street. Not just in a coffeeshop or your room. The weather is much better nad the beachs and ocean cant be beat.

how easy is it to get grass and/or hash? At the airport once you land you get asked 5 times in the first 10 minutes. If you cant get herb in
Jamaica somthing is wrong with you. You can pick from many different kinds of herb and most who have herb have hash and oil

how open is smoking for people in public or in social settings? You can smoke while tanning at th beach, you can smoke in the cab as long as you ask first, you can smoke at a resturant while you wait for your meal, you can smoke at the club or concert, you can smoke at the pool of your resort with security right next to you ( if have a picture to prove it)

how good is the quality of smoke? Mostly sativas down there and getting the name of the strain is hard. But the herb is organic ( gorwn in dirt with chicken shit) hard hitting and cheap. Plus there are alot of strains down there now , i took beans and passed them out to growers and dealers. Gave out Burmeese, Sage, Williams Wonder, Sour Diesel 2.5 and free love.

is there maybe a certain time of year or holiday that is best? As long as you stay away in Hurricane season you are fine. Dont go between end of aug to mid december. Past that the weather is beautiful and the water is warm. Get yourself a red stripe and roll a spliff. its heaven on earth

i 2nd spain, went last spring break, saw they had marijuana to sell at head shop, but i didnt have any money on me, then found some hash there.(first/only experience with hash so i have nothing to compare it to) good luck and let us know when you find the perfect place.

Spain is good...there is a lot of hash in spain...very good hash too....thanks to it being so close to marocco. From my experience, the farther away from the south you go, the lower the quality of hash.

You can't go out puffin' in the streets, but say you're chillin' out on the terrace smokin' a cannon...then no one will bother you. When I was there people would smell it on the street and laugh because they knew it was da bomb ass weed. LOL

Jamaica is a fantastic ganja land, but I am not sure how legal it all is. Anyone know the law there? I felt more like keep it on the DownLow and no problems. It was very easy to get, but choice was the issue. Lucky it is so cheap you can try until you get it right. A lot of people will offer to take you to the farms which can be a neat experience, but Jamaica can be a dangerous place so be carefull and don't trust people you don't know. If you like the beach life this is a great trip.

One option for people is to go to a place and bring your own weed. Never to the Crazy countries that have harsh laws (like death). It can be mailed before you go. Something like this can make South America a great paradise. Get a house on the beach and no one will care what you smoke. Just keep it out of others sight. Even Amsterdam ain't like it used to be. I had a friend taken into custody 2 years ago for smoking a bowl outside of a weed club! I was with him and it was very bizzare. After taking him to the station they let him go 20 min later. So even if it seems okay you never know.

the more info on Alaska and Spain the better, Jamaica seems like it is a no brainer

festivals like the alaska one where people smoke in the open are perfect by the way
