I grew out 3 feminized beans from Golden Eye's and got on C'bay... only at 2 wks or less flowering... one is male so far... what about using this plant to make seeds or a 1/2 sib cross then back to the SC mother... anyone got any thoughts on this-??? thanx and stay safe and peace.

Getting a true male from femmed seeds is unlikely. The way most femmed seeds are made removes the male chromosome from the equation. It wouldn't suprise me if it sprouts a few hairs soon and turns out to be a hermie, which doesn't require the male chromosome.
Did you ask GE how the fems were made or what they think about it? JLP

hey JLP.
......I grew those beans, and they were done with a sensa product? had a hermie at 40 days or so. another next to it is still fine. nieksin over on OG seemed to think he had a male also.
In either xase, theres no SB smell or taste in this bud. have grown two phenos, one more sativa dom then the other. ya think your gonna be holdin that special clone at some point. theres prolly three maybe four diff plant types in these. might have to go through quite a few packs to find the plant. have read selfed is like a cube? wonderin what your thoughts on that are ![]() CBF |

Yeah,I've never actually grown femmed seeds or made any,but I've read a lot about them and making them. The smartest guy I ever saw on the subject is Sam_Skunkman over at OG.
I just ordered some of the new Strawberry Cough from Dutch Passion over at Seedbay.I'll definatley be watching for hermies. I think Sensi-Soak is used when you germ the seeds to increase your chances for females.Hormone?Snake oil?Who knows,I've seen varying reports. Most people use Gibb acid or STS to actually cause the seed mother to hermie and pollenate itself. The resulting offspring have no male chromosome, ergo they will all be female. The problem is many strains are hermie prone or hermie resessive and the stress of the selfing seems to bring it out even more in the offspring. Cubing and backcrossing are stabilization techniques.Selfing is more like an elaborate cloning process. JLP

hermies.....
..............just from the few selfed beans ive grown, i think they react like any other plant. stress, light leaks and such will cause um to hermie. like any strain, they all will hermie givin the right conditions. i think peeps are makin to much outta femmed beans bein hermie prone. if the selfed plant was hermie prone then the prodigy will be also.
see so many grows that suffer from heat, cold, light leaks. perfect conditions are tough, especially my grows, and have only seen a hermie twice in 5 grows, one full blown and another a few flowers. not much history but the conditions in the op were not good in most all the grows. selfed seed is just startin to make progress, and can see breedin with out males in the future bein the standard. maybe not, but id like to see much more work in the area. also on stressin plants,.what about cuts shipped in the dark for days, even flowerin cuts, cloned and revegged at the same time, that wouldnt induce stress?
