Swiss sativa, Skunk, Super Skunk, Northern Lights.
Effect: a heavy indica feeling that evolves in a long lasting cerebral high. A special taste and a very social effect. |

The Church:
The Church is one of the new plants in the 2006 Green House Seed Company catalogue. The strains is presented in the feminized version, with the new packs of five and ten seeds to replace the 15-seeds pack of 2004-2005. The Church is a sweet indica-sativa cross with a great production and a good resistance to mould and bud-rot. It comes from a Swiss sativa plant, crossed with a Skunk and a Super-skunk from Holland, and then backcrossed to a Northern Lights plant for the stabilization process. The result: a mostly indica plant with very sweet taste, a very strong effect on the body and a pleasant cerebral high. Short, compact plant, it develops with a typical bushy shape; the strong branches support well the fast-forming, heavy buds. The internodes are quite short, averaging 5-7 cm; the leaflets are overlapping, showing the final predominance of the indica traits. The Church is fast and easy to grow, with a very strong fiber that makes it ideal for outdoor extreme conditions (high resistance to wind, rain, humidity). It is also perfect for indoor, thanks to the compact size and the high production per square meter. The Church flowers in 9 weeks but many commercial growers harvest it after just 8 weeks. The density of the buds guarantees that the maximum production is reached already in week 8, but an extra week will definitely improve resin and taste. At the Green House Seed Company we like to achieve the best taste, and we usually allow 9 full weeks before harvest. The flower structure is very compact, dense, with big round calyxes. The high calyx-to-leaf ratio gives less chlorophyll than with most indica-sativa crosses, giving an extra sweet note to the fruity aroma of this strain. The Church is low on CBD and CBN compared to the level of THC, giving a very stoned effect that evolves rapidly in a smooth high. Quite a complex effect that pleases people in social as well as introspective moments. The smell of the Church is strong, sweet and fruity. It has a light sativa background with woody notes. At the Green House Seed Company we like to grow the Church in earth to achieve maximum sweetness, but the highest production is achieved in hydro systems. The plant is very good for outdoor humid / rainy areas, or wherever mould and fungi are issues. We tested the resistance to mould of this plant in the humid valleys of Switzerland, where fog and rain are a real menace to healthy buds. The results were very good, with less than half the damage compared to other strains. The compact size of the Church allows guerrilla grower to hide their crops easier than with taller strains, and the plants are very easy to bend thanks to the very flexible fiber. In the Mediterranean regions the Church finishes outdoor in early October. The feminized seeds allow maximum efficiency both indoor and outdoor, with no special requirements. ![]()

Is this strain in any way related to the US elite cut Church (a.k.a. Elvis), or just a hybrid named church?
