Male selection with Hashberry and Speed Queen.
Mike,
What would you look for in males of these two strains. I have about 4 each to choose from and would like your opinion. Would you rate balls to leaf ratio as criteria? Waiting for your thoughts. |

What rates foremost is resin and aroma. Pick the sticky smelly one. And then of course the flowering power is also a criteria.

Yes. I want to make seeds after this, using only the best of the girls and boys. I'd say my best two boys were a Speed Queen and an Apollo. I wasn't expecting much from the Speed Queens since I've never dealt with them, but the lone female (maybe there's another one in there that I don't know about) is in my top five, so I think the male probably does come from fine lineage. I'll use these two males for 1:1 breeding, then mix the pollen of them and all the other males for general seed making, RRS style.
Of course the most resinous males were the ones that formed some female flowers, but those won't be included in the pollen mix. |
