mutant Durban Poison x Skunk LST, Grapefruit reveg...

well this is my second real grow. I grew 3 grapefruits my first time, and I did not train or anything, and I didn't veg long enough either, so they did not get large enough to fill my grow space. I only ended up with a couple ounces using 800w, which was pretty dissappointing... I am learning fast though.

I tried germinating a shitload of durban poison x skunk seeds that I got as freebies with the GF, and I ended up with one tricotyledonous plant. I accidentally let it flower when it was only 2 weeks old (I had it in my box with the flowering grapefruits), and I saw that it was female... so I kept it.

here were the 3 grapefruits I grew out... and the baby durban poison.

at that point the DP x skunk mutant was about a week old.

I trained this girl from when she was very small. I also topped her when she was tiny just to see what would happen... since she's a mutant I figured she could be my experimental plant. fast forward approximately 6 weeks. I give you my DP x Skunk. any comments are appreciated. I think I'm doing a pretty good job at training... I'm trying to get a ridiculous amount of tops since I have 800w to work with. Only using my 400w metal halid for vegging right now though. I'm gonna keep vegging and training this girl till the revegging grapefruit catches up. It might take a while

I'm really hoping she speeds up, I think I just stunted her growth when I accidentally flowered her at week 2 and then topped her...

pics of the revegging grapefruit will be along eventually. She was the best pheno out of the 3 I had. It took a while but she's starting to grow new shoots everywhere. At first the new growth was deformed and stuff, but its starting to look pretty normal.

looked like a normal seed, from what I can remember. when it first popped up from the soil I was pretty suprised.

Strange that it was the only one that germinated too... When it was small, it had some deformed leaves. Now, only some of the branches have these deformed leaves, and other branches have completely normal leaves. very strange.

ah.. well here we are after a much needed winter break. I didnt see the babies for 3 weeks or so, and was pretty surpised when I got back... they had grown a lot but there was obvious nute problems, which I determined was high pH. I treated the soil with pH down and foliar fed with orchid bloom nutes.

this is the durban poison x skunk, I had to prune out the lower branches yesterday because it was just too thick and there were too many tiny leaves and shoots. It's been really hard to try and keep the canopy even... after being gone for so long two dominant shoots kind of took over and I had to keep them tied down and let the others catch up.

DP x skunk #1

two humpty doo hazes (red cups), one random dank seed (3gallon), all unkown sex. THe humpty doo haze were extremely stunted due to pH problems, but new growth is healthy on all plants.

grapefruit reveg... what can I say... looks alot better than the first time around. Very healthy, and tolerated the high pH soil very well while growing. Now that I have adjusted the pH, it's growing even more vigorously. this is about 2 months after harvesting her the first time...

now, I was wondering... I have about 4.5 feet of vertical space (after taking pots and light clearance into consideration) for these girls to grow into. At the moment, the DPxSkunk and Grapefruit are both about 1.5 feet tall with alot of shoots. When should I flower them in order to get the most out of them? I dont mind if I need to veg for another couple weeks, but I dont want them to outgrow my space either. Maybe I'm just overestimating how much they're going to stretch...

here's some pics. I am now in about day 10 of 12/12

first up is my grapefruit reveg baby. first is a shot with the sidelighting turned off, second is a closeup of a flower, third has sidelighting on.

now for the Durban Poison x Skunk LST!

side lighting is turned off in the first two pics, third pic is closeup of one of the flowers. That isn't the main shoot, but its nice.

oh, and the random bagseed and two humpty doo hazes both turned out to be female.. 5 happy girls ^^

I've been feeding with PBP bloom (2.5-2-5) because it has alot of K and my DPxSkunk seemed very hungry for the potassium. Before I flowered I hit it with some high P (11-35-15) orchid bloom ferts. All past pH problems seem to have been corrected. I will test the runoff pH next time I water.

here we are at day 12... the nodes are really starting to 'splode with pistils. I "supercropped" a few shoots on both the DPxskunk and GF, the result seems to be very dense and full growth in the treated shoots. It doesnt seem to be stunting the plants at all.

Grapefruit!

DPxSkunk!

random bag seed plant... no training due to time constraints and the fact that the DP and GF had a huge headstart in veg. just gonna grow straight up.

comments or questions, plz?

thx.. I kind of wish I didn't top her so young. I would have liked to see the trifoliar growth from the main stem... all I have now is a bunch of shoots with alternating nodes.
