New Grow Box

Alright I had to scrap the PC grow Idea cause the case I planned on growing in came into some other use, so ive got a new box here, just went out, bought myself the lights, 2 porcelin light fixtures, with 2 Y sockets, I plan on running 4 42w CFLs for right now, possibly more in the future. Now, Ive searched high and low online... But I cant find out how to wire the 2 fixtures to 1 plug that goes into the outlet.... I have the wires and everything I need, but if anyone can be of some assistance it would be great. thanks! Ill have pics up in a few hours, the gf has my cam :(

i'm sure there is an easier or more clever way of doing it but this is how i would do it...

walmart sells a plug kit that comes with two 2-prong plugs and i would just connect both of those to an extension cord that has multiple sockets on one end

Hey man. I recently made a similar light cable up. I took a length of two conductor cord with a molded plug on the end to go into the outlet. Strip the other end back, and just connect your two sockets to it. Both black wires together & hook them to the smooth-jacketed wire on your cord (also the one with the smaller prong if polarized). Both white wires together and hook them to the other wire. You can wire nut these or solder and tape. Worked great for me. Let me know if it sounds confusing...Im pretty blazed.

Edit: Just cranked up Paint. This is basically how mine looks. Just connected in parallel.

Hopefully this helps. I'd love to see some pics of your new setup.

Very nice. Similar dimensions to a large computer case. What kind of ventilation are you planning? Also what type of grow medium and how many plants are you thinking?

Alright for ventilation I plan to have 1-2 2" PVC pipe's for intake, with a 120mm PC fan.. im still unsure if I want to put the fan on the side some where, or up on top near the lights. For now, 1 plant in soil. Possiblty for more depending on how well this goes. Just some bag seed I got a while ago, pretty good herb. If all goes well ill purchase some beans.
