Shanti - Seed Mix up?
I ordered and am growing your Neville's Haze (Mr.Nice via Dr.Chronic).
When I examined the seeds they were extremely different looking, size shape and colour, no two matched... When I germinated them two seed that were similiar came up purple stemmed and sprouted together exactly three days after the rest. When they started to grow there was a HUGE range in leaf shapes, some fat and stubby like an Indica, some long and thin like a Sativa, some dark green, some light green. Now that they're up to their third nodes I'm seeing some very distinct differences in the plants... What's going on with them as I payed quite a bit for what I thought was a predominantly Sativa strain, supposedly stable. I can send photos if it'd help. I've received mixed up seed in the past from less reputable seed houses but this really surprised me. I'd like to discuss this with you, ~da_Gnome~ |

All the Mr Nice seeds I get are in sealed breeder pack .I also dont think Nevilles Haze is an IBL so I would assume you would see some variation .There are ones that finish in 12 weeks some that take 20 I belive the 14 week pheno is the keeper

I've got a few years experience under my belt, and I've often seen the common variations possible in seed, but this goes way beyond that. There's no way I should be getting obviously Indica leaves on 3/4's of the seedlings. The seeds were obviously not from the same parents, at least I've never in my life seen THAT much variation in seed. I'm running these inside and I'm not willing to invest the kind of time, space, and electricity a Sativa takes unless I'm sure that I'm getting what I hoped for.
Seed came in the generic plastic case in a little zip-lock with a rough photocopy Mr.Nice stick-on label. Tucked inside. Hand printed letters... Sure wasn't what I'd expect for a 'Breeder's Pack' I'm disappointed, not upset but I'd sure like to hear what's what.. ya know? ~gnomer~ |

Wait for the first three weeks of flowering and you should see more sativa influenced leaf shape.
You have to understand there is 25% NL#5 genetics in the NH. Have a nice grow. Peace. Last edited by Kashgar; 12-17-2006 at 02:13 PM.. |

Those look alot like the leaves on my SSH. I too bought the same pack of seeds you are doing right now(same source, same packaging) ,so I will be following along with great intrest, hope they're everything they're cracked up to be. I've heard that with Mr. Nice strains pheno selection is key to getting what you payed for.Hope maybe Shanti can shed some light for ya...good luck.

You should work this out w/ Shanti in a PM.............
I will say that earlier this year I got a pak from Doc Chronic, "hand labeled", not Breeder Pak, like yours,........it was not what it was suppose to be, and I ended up putting the plants in my compost pile. Shanti made it right. Doc is a great guy,........but, I think there might be "someone" in his business doing the old "switcherooooo" on some of the bean orders......... I got flamed for saying this ...............but just sharing my experience . cm.

as far as seed size, the bract determines that. the leaves will have a hint of nl influence in them, so they dont look too far off of how they should. good luck! |
