Buying newer vehicle

I'm thinking of buying one 2002 model 1.8t, not sure if they are a good choice. I don't really like front wheel drive cars but I heard that the still handle decently, probably not as good as my porsche.

I'm also thinking about chipping it to get more power out of it.

I want something more modern / fairly reliable. All the cars I've had up to now have been old school cars.

I also like the old mk2 gtis but I kind of want to get a newer car for once.

just wondering if anyone can recommend any other cars for around 15k.
I'm looking for a fastish, fun car for around this price so no toyota camrys or mini vans.

oh, I'm not going to buy a car right away but by the summer. I also have some money right now , enough for a downpayment and I still have my porsche which I can sell if I need to.

I thought about a wrx but they seem to be overpriced, and I can only afford a base model not a sti, I'm also not crazy about the style.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to get a gti 1.8 t because I like a turbocharged car you can get more power fairly easy but the front wheel drive kind of sucks. but a 200hp front wheel drive gti wouldn't be too bad.

yeah I did get new tires for my porsche, toyos, pretty good , but I was driving hard in the rain the other day and I almost lost control of the rear end... they are still way better than the old tires

I'm going to wait another two years to move out.... and by move out I mean move to a dorm when I go to law school.
