The great survivor Speed queen
Hi,
I just wanted to share my first experiences with Speed Queen. Got 10 beans, only 2 sprouted ( my mistake). But am i lucky bastard or what? 1 was definetly female and other is something else. But here is the best part. Other was/is (maybe) male and i pulled it from soilbed after 4 weeks and throwed in the corner of my grow room. It basically had all it´s roots lost with a fistfull of soil left. It stayed there for 4 DAYS drying. Yesterday i looked at it and those preflowers didn´t look male flowers anymore! Well, i re-potted it quickly and saturated with water. I thought that would be end of it, but this morning it was up and running like no other! If it still turn out to be male its fine, but boy! was i suprised.. It seems to be hard to kill these genetics.. I´ll post few pics later. By the way and using recycled soil. So far other Mandalas and few others are massive plants. I always rely on BIG pot size. It makes caring more easier and plants grow really fast. Example PPP is 140 cm in height after 4 weeks. I always go with at least 30 L of soil per plant. |

lol so wait, you uprooted your "male" and it was just sitting there - not in a pot or anything? with its roots exposed with a little soil?
and then it actually managed to show more signs of sex after that and tell you it was female LOL amazing. just goes to show you how alive these plants really are!!!! |

About a week or so into flower i snapped the top 2 to 3 inches of the main cola almost completely off of my Speed Queen. I just propped the tip up with a stick (half-assedly mind you) and it didn't slow her down a bit. Now she's about 2.5 weeks from being done and looking very good. Despite my best efforts, I can't get this plant to show any stress. Top notch genetics if the smoke is good and I have no doubt it will be.

Hi Folks, and thanks for comments
Here is a pick of her. In the pic She is about 5 weeks old and about 80cm in height. I started flowering after 5th week. She should be one fat lady when ready? Bit yellowish because of recycled soil, i think. I´ve gave Her some extra nitrogen, but so far haven´t seen any improvement. ![]() I have few other strains too but so far only She has a lovely scent of something musky or like aftershave..lol |
