Need Info from White Satin growers
Just curious about a few things. I think from the description this would be a nice strain for a stealth microgrow... however by all accounts from this site the actual plants can deviate considerably from the breeder descriptions (not saying I've read this about Mandala strains except for the comment at the bottom, but just cannabis in general). So I want to know, straight up from people who've grown this strain.
1) does it really perform well in low light conditions? It seems people are pulling some pretty dank buds from their micro/PC/rubbermaid grows... would this strain do well in such conditions? 2) is it really low odor? this is VERY important. Odor is something a stealth grower cannot overlook. It would suck to fork over (the admittedly meager, but still) cash for seeds and end up with a big stinky surprise later on... 3) how is the smoke? The social/up/daytime high in the description sounds PERFECT... is this actually the case? Sorry if I sound skeptical, I'm really not trying to come off that way... but I read in another grow of White Satin where the plant was described as a "stinker", and so has left me wondering a bit. Anyone? |

i have grown White Satin under a 250wtt HPS and a 600wtt powerplant HPS and they did very well...i can,t comment on using fluro's in flower but all my plants get vegged for a month under Blue fluro's & compact CFL'S and they perform 100%... so i can,t really say whats shes like performing under low light levels in flower what i have noticed even when i am doing a Mandala multicrop and a few strains from other breeders they definitley outperform the rest in vegg under the fluro's,and in flower under an HPS even a 250 they put out quality buds"Example" Greenhouse seeds white widow and Himalayan Gold was put side by side with a mandala crop after a month Mandalas plants look like small trees compared to twiggs i have run side by side tests and mikes strains definitley outperforms the best of them maybe not be the best strain to compare against but they did,nt compare Quote:
white satin has a beautiful aroma in flowering not intense compared to hashberry or satori or Kalichakra and definitley not like one of the safari mix pheno's i got it took over my whole room... "just one plant" lol with an intense sweet smell i can,t really describe that smell ... but it was,nt your normal smelling plant... but yes she is low odour i,m not going to say she,s not intense either because she has her moments but the majority of her time in flower you have no need too worry...i always find that the smell is more intense first thing in the morning when the light are still off but i grew this strain the last time with other Mandala strains and they where the ones putting out the intense odours but grown on her own she does,nt cause this problem. These plants do Exactley what it says in the breeders description,i feel more artistic after smoking this one,it gives me huge rushes of positive energy that makes my highs from white satin more positive, but! yes it,s definitley good for the daytime smoker and lets you get on with the things you need to do without slowing you down at all. after curing White Satin for a month the buds smoked beautifuly this crop was grown with Advanced Nutrients Organic Iguana Juice grow & bloom the smoke was clean clear and burned with a beautiful white ash and stays lit... the taste is intense, and once it reaches your taste buds your in for a treat. i definitley recommend curing for a month or at least 2 weeks to get the full white satin flavour swirling around your mouth ... spicy fruits is all i can say it,s got one of the most fresh and satisfying taste i,ve smoked over 25 years of smoking weed, "remember this is my own personal description" and could differ from another smoker but thats the only description i can give on the taste. they look amazing in the jars aswell after drying and curing they look like beautiful golden nuggets covered and i mean covered in trichs. This strain performs very well under low lights and in decent conditions but definitley a champion plant in a perfect or near perfect enviroment, she produces big thick chunky buds, "big baseball bat colas" but this is what you get with all Mike strains no under achievers at all none. i would recommend this strain for first time growers as she is easy to grow and does,nt throw any real problems at the grower either if given a little bit of TLC... if odour is a worry why not put together a simple carbon scrubber to control your odour problems, and get the white satin growing. one thing i will say after you grow her once you will run her again and again...Hope this helps as i have already said this is my description but can differ from different growers and smokers...i hope this helps you decide whether she is for you or not...but she is a real joy to grow in your garden... Regards...Hashish This report is not for the refined white satin but i hope it still helps.

thats a good report
and bro, i forgot to add - everyone says mandala's strain descriptions are extremely accurate, i've never read anything saying different - meaning - white satin probably does perform well under low light and probably has low odor becayse thats wut their description says they also say its good for sog/scrog so it'd be fine for micro/box grows

I just smoked some hashberry from my steamroller about 45 mins ago.. wasn't feeling that much and I read this thread about white satin, the things I read sounded appealing so I pulled my bag of white satin (bagged for cure @ 12/10) off the shelf, loaded up the steamroller and let her rip.
I was tired and burnt out before smoking (been feeling like this all morning) and about 5 mins after my smoke I was feeling slightly energetic - all sluggish feeling gone - basic functions didnt feel arduous and thoughts flowed clearly through my mind, slightly elevated thoughts. Smooth smoke with a lite taste thats hard to put a finger on |
