Wallstreets DWC HPS/CFL SOG from seed
Hi all - welcome to my thread. I chose the micro grow forum as the area I have to grow in is very small - it is also an indoor hydro.
I just received my seeds today from Seedbay - planted as follows; 3 - MOD Godbud x Dreamweaver (DreamGoddess) 3 - Mandala Hashberry 3 - Nirvana White Rhino 2 - Nirvana AK48 I have 3 gallon rubbermaid dwc, 11 1-1/2" net pots, rockwool in clay balls. Dual airpumps - dual airstones. House brand hydro nutes. 1 70w hps, 2 42w cfls + 1 spare for later. Basically what I'm shooting for is a 2 - 3 week veg, then straight into 12/12. Hoping for a varied SOG, culling males as they show. No pics as of yet - no digi cam, but should be getting one soon (xmas), and I will update. Hope you enjoy - I know I will. ws Last edited by WallStreet; 12-05-2006 at 09:56 PM.. Reason: added proper name for gb x dw |

Ah, yes - the cab. My bad...
Grow area is just shy of 1.5 sq ft - 13"d x 17"w x 36"h. I have a modified bathroom exhaust fan, and passive intakes (4 x 3" in bottom, with cheese cloth as a pest/dust barrier). No carbon or anything for smell, but I've got some ideas to rig up. Heavy foil lined box, and the dwc has foil lined top, w/ nets sitting thru holes. With lights on, temps are 26c (79f). Dwc is double bin - stays cool at 19c (68f). Large pc fan for air movement. My lights are fixed, and the dwc is on pile of books. Strictly ghetto - on the low $$$. I've grown a few times already, with differing results, but the last one was not bad - kept me in smoke, and some of the buds were pretty decent (for me, I'm easy). More as it comes - waiting to babies to poke thru any minute. ws |

stay away from the foil, wouldnt do much good at all. if money is not there, a $3 emergency blanket from the walmart camping section will do the trick the best. check out Red Greenery's thread about an effective carbon filter for very cheap.

Ah! Hydro. I'm very interested to see how much of a difference a hydro setup does in comparison with my soil set up on AK-48. If it's much better I might be switching after my soil grow. Good luck and I'll be reading!

2 Hashberry, 3 White Rhino and 1 AK48 are up. 1 Hashberry died on breaking the surface, planted another one. None of the DG are up. All babies lookin' good - rest should be up soon. ws Last edited by WallStreet; 12-11-2006 at 08:56 PM.. Reason: a WR came thru |

1 more AK48 and a DG have sprouted - rotating dwc in cab to even out plant leaning/growth.

in potency, taste, and smell BUT NOT speed or yield (if done correctly) (but i dont think the extra speed or yield is worth the extra work imo) |

It is an interesting challenge to grow multiple plants in a small space, very good learning experience. The genetics all sound tasty, reckon you are in for some fun. I use about that space per plant in my bloom, and I do waste light, and should learn to do them tighter again. If you need a small carbon filter, check out the one I have in the DIY links, and scale it down to fit stuff you have available to build, that is if smell is an issue, I love the smell myself.
