Hey guys
i am new to all of this and seek your years of wisdom on the subject lol I havent got measurements of the cab but i do have a picture, shown below on the area i intend to work with, having no measurements makes it that much easier...... Now for some questions, I have decided to use some CFL lights but am undecided upon how many watts to use, i know some people work on the basis of 1 watt per gram but as its a small space i know for a fact i will not get very much so am doing this as an experiment before moving onto a larger grow are, so can anyone suggest how many watts i should use? also with cfl's do you have to change the bulbs for flowering and vegging status's of the plant as you do with hps bulbs? Also how could i ventilate the area, could i use some pc fans, would it keep it cool enough to stop it setting on fire lol Also final question on odour control, i need this grow to be pretty darn stealthy so am gonna need some good odor control and dont really want to invest in any expensive big carbon filters, so have you guys got any tricks that beet the funky smell back? many thanks |

hey man, for lighting id go for 4 40 watt cfls bought from home depot. buy their socket tee's also so u can use 2 sockets instead of 4. these lights can be used all around, for vegging and flowering, and they will last a long time also! for ventilation, go to radio shack and buy their 12 volt transformer, its 1000 millamps so it should be able to run like 3 pc fans. get those at compusa or whatever. for reflectivity, go to the camping section at your local sports store and look for safety blanket, and line the walls with it. check out red's tub forum for a great and effective way to neutralize odor in the cab. hope this helped.

thanks for the info digican, so presumably i would use 2 fans for air intake positioned lower down the cab and then an exhaust fan positioned near to the top?

yea something like that, or u could go with 2 exhaust fans and 1 intake. but the exhaust should be on top and the intake on the bottom.

if you ar gonna use a 70 watter, then those 3 will suffice. but for a 150 watter and ^, i would recomend getting an inline fan(s) from homedepot, such as this one below.
